✨ Flashback Friday ✨

Today, we remember Mrs. Ann Fletcher, a beloved part of the Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home (now Fletcher-Day Funeral Home) family and the Thomaston community.

Mrs. Fletcher was born in Thomaston on August 29, 1931, to the late Charles M. and Jewell Barron Pasley. A proud 1948 graduate of R.E. Lee Institute and 1952 graduate of Wesleyan College in Macon, she went on to teach 4th and 5th grade in Molena after marrying the late James H. “Jimmy” Fletcher in July of 1952.

In the mid-1950s, Ann and Jimmy became active in the family business. Their dedication was honored in 1960 when the firm’s name was officially changed to Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home.

Mrs. Fletcher remained active in the funeral home until her health declined, and she passed away in 2017. Her dedication to her family, her church, and her community continues to inspire us today.

We are grateful for her legacy and the lasting impact she made on Thomaston and beyond.

✨ Flashback Friday ✨

We’re looking back to 1998 inside Fletcher-Day Funeral Home with three men who have played such an important role in our story: Bob Fletcher, Phil Hancock, and Billy Sanders.

This photo reminds us of a time when their friendship and dedication were at the heart of our daily work. Though much has changed over the years, the values they lived out then—compassion, professionalism, and a deep love for serving families—still guide us today.

We are grateful that Bob and Phil continue to serve our community with the same steady commitment, while Billy retired in 2005 after many faithful years of service. Each of them has left an enduring mark on Fletcher-Day and the families we are honored to care for.

🚔 Georgia Law Enforcement Appreciation Day 🚔

Today we pause to honor and thank the brave men and women who serve and protect our communities across Georgia. At Fletcher-Day Funeral Home, we are especially grateful for the dedication of local law enforcement officers who not only safeguard our daily lives but also provide compassionate service through funeral escorts.

Their presence during funeral processions shows respect, ensures safety, and brings comfort to families during some of their most difficult moments. We are deeply appreciative of the care and professionalism they extend to the families we serve.

To all of Georgia’s law enforcement officers—thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your commitment to our community. 💙

With Love,
Your Fletcher-Day Family

🌟 Meet the Staff 🌟

If you’ve lived in Thomaston for more than five minutes, chances are you already know Phyllis Sanders. But just in case, here’s a refresher.

Phyllis graduated from R.E. Lee Institute and earned her BS degree in Education from Mercer University. She spent 26 years shaping young minds as a middle school teacher in the Thomaston-Upson School System — and yes, she remembers exactly who was passing notes in class. Before teaching, she worked several years in local banks, probably balancing ledgers with more precision than most of us balance our checkbooks.

She’s a proud member of the First Presbyterian Church of Thomaston, active in the Thomaston-Upson and Georgia Retired Educators Associations, and serves as secretary for the Board of Directors of the Thomaston-Upson Sports Hall of Fame.

Phyllis is also a die-hard Georgia Bulldogs fan, and when she’s not cheering on the Dawgs, you’ll find her reading, crocheting, watching sports, cooking, or enjoying the beach. She has two children, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren who keep her busy and smiling.

We’re lucky to have Phyllis on our team. ❤️

Compassionate Service

Fletcher-Day Funeral Home in Thomaston is the result of the hard work and dedication to the community of the C. M. Pasley, Sr., family. In 1893 Mr. Pasley operated the C. M. Livery, Feed and Sale Stable and decided to build caskets in advance to offer to families who had been renting his wagon and horses to transport caskets and bodies to homes and cemeteries. In 1918, Mr. Pasley's son, C. M. "Charles" Pasley Jr., joined the firm. His wife, Jewell Barron Pasley became an active part of the business in 1921, and in 1937 the family business shifted away from the livery stable and now focused on the Funeral Home. In 1952, Charles and Jewell's daughter, Ann, married James H. "Jimmy" Fletcher of Molena. Three years later, Jimmy joined the staff of his father-in-law's business and in 1961, Pasley Funeral Home became Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home. The business moved to its current location on North Church Street in 1972. This modern facility met the needs of a changing culture and solidified Pasley-Fletcher's position as a leader in service to the community. Bob Fletcher and Darren Day continue to maintain the oldest business in the county, and continue a tradition of service into the 21st century. Fletcher-Day continues to use traditional funeral home values while integrating new technologies and customizing needs for families. We are progressive in personalizing a funeral service by offering an active website, pre-planning on-line, video tributes and other innovative personalization options. Our newest endeavor is our Funeral Resource Center, which offers families an opportunity to create a memorable, lasting personal tribute to their loved ones. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home looks forward to the continued compassionate caring service that was begun in 1893.
