Today was all about stirring up sweet Thanksgiving memories! Our Cottage residents made pumpkin pies and our Assisted Living residents made sweet potato pies! We're split pretty even on which is our favorite but most agreed we wouldn't turn down either one 😂 So which is your Thanksgiving go-to?

It was a beautiful morning with piano music and singing from Pat Wade and then we switched gears this afternoon and made the cutest little turkeys!

It's National Apple Cider Day and you know what that means...both Cottage and Assisted Living residents stirred up memories and the sweetest little apple cider donut holes this morning and washed them down with warm apple cider!

We are so fortunate here at Brookstone Terrace to not have to worry about where our next meal will come from, but we know not everyone in our community has that luxury. Join us this holiday season as we collect non-perishable food items for those in our community who are less fortunate. Donations can be dropped off in our turkey box by the front door.

Happy Veterans Day! We are honored to have our very own Veterans representing the Army, Navy and Air Force who served during Vietnam, Korea and even WW2! Last week a couple of our Veterans were able to attend High Point University's Veterans Day Celebration. We had Thomasville High School's Junior ROTC stop by for a flag folding ceremony and today we made patriotic cupcakes!

Did you know today is National Stress Awareness Day? Today we took time for a little meditation (our biggest group yet by the way) to quiet our minds, relax our bodies and reflect on all we have to be thankful for! We also had a record crowd for arts and crafts where we made poppies for the upcoming Veterans Day!

Every Tuesday this month, we will be honoring some of our nation's heroes.

Today, I'm introducing you to WWII Veteran Jim Cain.

Jim is such a special man, and my life is better because I got to meet him and hear stories from his 2.5 years serving in the Navy.

It may be hard to believe this by looking at him, but he is 99 years old!

What a sweet morning and even sweeter trick-or-treaters! The kids from Honey Bunch Daycare stopped by this morning and absolutely made our day! Luna the dog made sure everyone was on their best behavior!
