During Women’s Health Month, it’s important to understand how hormonal changes can impact your heart. As women age, especially through menopause, shifts in hormone levels can increase the risk of heart disease.

That’s why staying proactive matters. Regular checkups, healthy habits, and understanding your personal risk can make a lasting difference.

Taking care of your heart starts with awareness and a commitment to your well-being at every stage of life.

The heart and vascular team at Archbold is here to support you with quality and compassionate care. To learn more about their services, visit archbold.org/services/heart-and-vascular.

There’s no better source of information about a healthcare provider than their patients. Hearing about patients' positive experiences gives you confidence when choosing a provider or practice.

These quotes are just some of the positive feedback Dr. Dale L. Wing and the team at Archbold Primary Care-Thomasville have received from patients in the last year.

According to the American Stroke Association, about one in four stroke survivors suffers a second one—but it doesn't have to be that way.

There are steps proven to reduce your risk of a second stroke, including:
• Know the cause of your stroke
• Manage high blood pressure
• Control cholesterol
• Reduce blood sugar
• Be active
• Eat better
• Lose weight
• Stop smoking
• Be involved in your treatment plan decisions
• Take medications as prescribed
• Join a program that includes exercise, education, or counseling

Work with your medical providers to create a secondary stroke prevention plan and stick with it. To learn more about stroke care at Archbold, please visit www.archbold.org/stroke.
