Sepsis is your body's life-threatening response to an infection and is a medical emergency. It affects affects 1.7 million Americans annually, and at least 350,000 adults who develop sepsis die during their hospitalization or are discharged to hospice, according to the CDC.

Archbold has introduced Code Sepsis, a new overhead alert at Archbold Memorial intended to facilitate earlier recognition and treatment of sepsis. Early action is critical for patients suspected to have sepsis, and Archbold is committed to facilitating early intervention.

When it comes to the warning signs of sepsis, remember IT'S ABOUT TIME and watch for:

T - Temperature (higher or lower than normal)
I - Infection (may have signs or symptoms of infection)
M - Mental Decline (confused, sleepy, difficult to rouse)
E - Extremely Ill (severe pain, discomfort, shortness of breath)

Do not wait. Call 911 or go to a hospital and say, "I'm concerned about sepsis."

Archbold Living-Cairo residents have enjoyed several fun activities to cap off the summer this year!

The Washington Middle School cheerleaders showed off their cheers and brought donations for our residents.

We enjoyed meeting all the pups from Best Friends Dog Rescue and held our first ever costume race.

Our staff and residents also learned about Japanese culture through food and story telling.
