Together, we uphold the highest standards in our industry. Since 1949, the NCCA has been dedicated to fostering a closer association among cemetery owners, operators, officers, and employees. Here are just a few of the benefits your membership will bring:

-Advocacy and Representation: The NCCA actively works to protect against predatory legislation, advocate for our industry, and represent your interests in public and private hearings. The most recent bill, SB 105, ensures that we hold the same tax exemption as all other non-commercial cemeteries, which saves hundreds of thousands of dollars for our members.

-Education and Expertise: Gain access to leading experts and valuable insights through our Annual Convention and Seminars, designed to help you stay informed and excel in your field.

-Networking Opportunities: Connect with colleagues and build lasting relationships with professionals who share your passion and commitment to the cemetery industry. Our mission extends beyond advocacy and education. We encourage each other to continue the high calling of honoring life through permanent memorialization, satisfying the need to remember and be remembered. We promote honest and sincere dealings among our members and the public. We also strive to educate the public on the importance of planning for the inevitable, ensuring families are protected and prepared for the future. Your membership is not just a commitment to the NCCA—it is a commitment to the values and standards that define our industry. Sharon Memorial Park, a proud NCCA member, was founded in 1939 and is situated on 140 beautifully landscaped acres along Monroe Road in Charlotte. Designed with beauty and tranquility in mind, the park features sparkling lakes, scenic walkways, elegant Italian marble statues, European artwork, and a peaceful, garden-like setting for remembrance.

Sharon Memorial Park offers a wide variety of burial, entombment, and cremation options, including traditional ground burial, lawn crypts, community and private mausoleum entombment, private lakeside estates, cremation benches, and cremation niches, allowing families to create personalized final resting places that reflect their wishes and values.

A unique feature of the cemetery is the Holy Redeemer Catholic Garden, a dedicated space for Catholic families located along a tranquil pond. Centered around a Holy Redeemer Crucifix atop a 96-niche cremation columbarium, the garden is designed to serve generations of families while honoring faith and tradition.

At the heart of the park stands Sharon Mausoleum, a magnificent structure completed in 1950 and designed by architect Cecil E. Bryan. With Romanesque architecture, a Spanish-style tiled roof, and stone imported from Doria, Italy, the mausoleum reflects the timeless beauty of the churches and monasteries of Tuscany and includes a light-filled chapel for committal services.

Guided by the vision of founder Dr. William L. Halberstadt, Sharon Memorial Park was created to be a place of quiet beauty. An everlasting garden that tells the story of a life and evokes lasting memories. The cemetery remains committed to maintaining well-kept grounds and serving families of all faiths with dignity and care.

We are grateful to have Sharon Memorial Park as part of the North Carolina Cemetery Association.

Situated on 140 acres on Monroe Road, Sharon Memorial Park was designed with beauty and tranquility in mind.

With sparkling lakes, elegant Italian marble statues, European artwork and a magnificent indoor mausoleum, Sharon Memorial Park is a verdant and serene final resting spot for loved ones. Sharon Memorial Park has a beautiful light-filled mausoleum chapel for committal services.

Sharon Memorial Park also has a special garden in their cemetery dedicated to those of the Catholic faith. Located along the banks of a lovely pond, Holy Redeemer Catholic Garden stands out for its Holy Redeemer Crucifix feature, which sits on a 96-niche cremation columbarium and is surrounded by cremation benches with walkways leading to private hedge estates. The garden has plenty of land available for future development and will be able to serve Catholic families for many generations to come.

The most striking building is certainly Sharon Mausoleum. With its Spanish-style tiled roof, Romanesque architecture and exterior made of stone from Doria, Italy, the building is reminiscent of the churches and monasteries of Tuscany. Famed architect Cecil E. Bryan designed the mausoleum. Construction was completed in 1950.

Inside the building, there are several marble corridors, including a Catholic corridor and a corridor named for Dr. William L. Halberstadt, who founded the memorial park. Several stained-glass windows depicting Christian themes add to the grandeur.

At Sharon Memorial Park, the staff considers it an honor to provide cemetery services to the Charlotte community. They understand how important it is to choose a final resting spot that’s beautiful, dignified and personalized. Their team members strive to keep the cemetery grounds well-maintained and beautifully landscaped all year long. We encourage you to go visit or take a tour of their peaceful grounds.
