🏈🏈Even though our hometown team isn’t in the Super Bowl this year, conversations around football injuries and recovery are still front and center.

Dr. Forrest Anderson, orthopedic surgeon with HCA HealthONE, shares expert insight into Bo Nix’s injury and what recovery really looks like — with a focus on healing the right way, not rushing the process. It’s a reminder that whether you’re a pro athlete or recovering from an injury yourself, having the right care and guidance matters: https://bit.ly/3NHKHOb

If you’re dealing with an injury and need expert care, find a doctor at HCA HealthONE and take the next step toward recovery: HCAHealthONE.com/physicians.

A doctor spoke to FOX31 about the recovery ahead for Broncos quarterback Bo Nix, who broke his ankle in the overtime win versus the Bills on Saturday.

Two years ago, Meredith arrived at our sister hospital, HCA HealthONE Swedish, after a life-changing accident that involved broken bones and multiple skin and tissue grafts to save her leg. She wasn't sure if she would walk again. Today, she is back to her passion—and she’s using it to say "thank you" in the most incredible way.

At the recent Sanding Ovations Sand Sculpting Festival in Florida, Meredith unveiled a design titled "The Day I Lived." The sculpture features an angel sheltering three figures under her wing. Those figures are the likenesses of her HCA HealthONE care team: Dr. Benson Pulikkottil, Dr. Wade Smith and ICU Nurse Ally.

Meredith calls them her "true angels" who put her back together. While Meredith designed the piece, she is still regaining the physical ability to climb the high forms required for this scale of work, so the sculpting was executed by the talented Abe Waterman.

Do you know what your numbers mean? They can reveal far more about your health than you might think. Blood pressure naturally rises and falls throughout the day, but when it stays high, your risk rises too. 📈 Nearly half of Americans have high blood pressure, often with no symptoms – that’s why high blood pressure is known as the “silent killer.”

This arctic blast is serious — doctors are saying frostbite can set in within minutes when skin is exposed. Even quick trips outside can add up faster than you think.

A few easy ways to stay safe:
• Layer up and cover exposed skin (hands, ears, face especially) 🧤🧣
• Limit time outside when temps and wind chills are brutal
• Watch for numbness or pale/waxy skin — those can be early frostbite signs
• Bring pets inside and check on neighbors who may need help

There are more than 65,000 certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) practicing across the United States – each playing a vital role in patient care. During CRNA Week, HCA HealthONE joins our broader HCA Healthcare network in celebrating the CRNAs who care for our patients with expertise, compassion and dedication.

CRNAs are valued partners throughout the surgical journey, fostering a relationship of trust and safety with patients. These skilled team members educate patients before and after anesthesia, assist with its administration and interpret vital signs throughout the procedure.

To our dedicated CRNAs, thank you for your and the exceptional care you provide each day. Your clinical skill and commitment to safety help ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
