HCA HealthONE Mountain Ridge is excited to announce the opening of our new patient tower! This first phase of our expansion adds 24 private rooms equipped with advanced technology to provide a more comfortable and healing environment.

We're grateful to Thornton mayor, Jan Kulmann, our Community Advisory Council, and all our community partners for celebrating this milestone at our ribbon-cutting ceremony. Patients will begin enjoying the new rooms this Monday.

People with type 2 diabetes face a higher risk of developing dementia. But a new study suggests that a specific class of diabetes medications, called GLP-1s, may significantly lower that risk compared to another common medication, metformin.

“Obesity, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes are all known to increase the risk of dementia, largely due to their role in driving inflammation, vascular damage, and other long-term stressors on the brain. By targeting these underlying issues, GLP-1s, which are already widely used to treat obesity and diabetes, may offer indirect protection against cognitive diseases,” says Dr. Michael Snyder, bariatric surgeon with HCA HealthONE.
