April is C-Section Awareness Month 🀰

C-sections whether planned or not are a major surgery and event in a mother's life.

Recovery is more difficult with lifting restrictions, post-surgical discomfort, trying to care for your new little one while trying to remember to care for yourself after a large abdominal surgery and keep up with life.

People often don't realize the impact that the scar can have on the mother physically and sometimes emotionally.

Syvana has helped lots of women heal with both between fascial release/CST and taping techniques.

Most common symptoms that are improved:

*tightness
*sensitivity
*bladder discomfort/control
*pelvic pain
*emotional processing/hurt
*constipation
*referred pain from surgery/scar tissue/Adhesions

It doesn't matter how long ago your C-Section was Syvana has worked with and improved symptoms with women who are 30 yrs post C-Section.

It's never to late to feel comfortable in your own skin. ✨️

Are you rushing your little ones milestones to check the box to feel like they are "on track"? βœ…οΈ

With big hearts and parents wanting their little ones to do the best its often out of love the rush of making sure they can achieve all the things on time.
With my background in pediatric physical therapy I'm often talking about milestones with parents.
Restricted babies are often demonstrating compensatory patterns or "behind/later norms" in learning gross motor milestones.

I love to get to educate about the importance of quality in each step and helping parents realize the importance of transitional movements.
What do I mean?

Parent: "My baby has been able sit for a while. Why arent they progressing to hands and knees?"

Therapist: "Are they getting themselves into a sitting position?"

Parent: "No, we put them there."

There's your missing piece. In order for babies to progress appropriately they need to learn transitional movements. To get from one position to another. This is vital. This not only is connecting neurons and priming the brain for the next milestone when ready, but also, strengthening the muscles and coordination needed for the next so they don't use extension for rolling or hang on/lock at their hips to sit.

Tight fascia can play a key roll in little ones not progressing as well. So often I see tight sacrum or shoulder girdles affecting so much of gross motor advancement.
Why can this happen? Position in utero, being in swing, car seat "containers" too often or too long, birth -C-section, getting stuck in the birth canal or coming very fast, oral ties to name a few.

Before wanting to rush to check the box your baby can do the thing, make sure its a true developmental skill they have acquired.

This isnt to say you cant help them transition and practice but before moving onto the next milestone making sure they can perform their current one independently.

πŸ“’After careful consideration and feedback both professionally and from clients, we are making rates standard to EC current pricing across both locations.

This change makes things consistent for everyone and simplifies things for you and us. This change really only affects those who book at our Thorp office.

Prices did increase a small amount in March in Thorp. The 30 min appointments were changed but after feedback over the last month, we decided to standardize them to keep patient experiences fair and consistent between locations and providers.

If you have any questions about this please feel free to reach out.

We are looking forward to sunny summer days. β˜€οΈ Syvana's schedule is currently booked into June.

Happy Monday!πŸ“…

A quick update Syvana's schedule has been full for quite some time which is why we are so excited to be bringing Chelsea on board to help see more of you!

In the last month there has been an increase in babies referred for pre/post tie release therapy and just general interest. Due to this, Syvana has maxed out her availability for appointments. After lots of consideration, Syvana is no longer accepting new clients for the rest of the month. We are hoping after we get some of the littles in good spots with or without ties that more space will become available again in the near future. Especially for babies needing help with oral or body tightness that is impacting function.
We will re-evaluate in the beginning of March and update as she is able to take on more individuals.

In the meantime, there are 2 options:

1) If you are 5 yrs or older and looking for services, Chelsea's schedule is open for March at our Eau Claire office.

2) If you'd like to get on our waitlist for when spots become available you can contact Ava, our patient coordinator, at 715-396-1705 or email admin@atouchofbalancellc.com. A new patient can expect to not be seen until the beginning of June at the earliest currently with Syvana.

**If you are looking for services for your infant or little one due to a tongue tie release you can call to get on our waitlist/cancelation list for the potential to be seen since those visits are procedure dependent.**

Reminder: Price adjustments will go into affect March 1st,2026. More information can be found on the website under booking >>important update.

Thank you all for your support and understanding as I have tried my best over the last few months to accommodate and not turn away too many people but the time has come that I need to pause so I am not trying to run on an empty tank.

Stay tuned for updates and have a great week all! 🀘

What does fascia actually do? Lots! It's just like a muscle right? Yes and no.

It does so much more and they are working on trying to get it to be classified as an organ and/or a primary system because its involved in so many systems of the body and arguably everything.

What effects its? Stress, cellular health, movement or lack there of, pressure, alignment, toxins and more!

I dont know if most people realize the actual involvement your cells have with the fascia. It is the difference of whether its dry, sticky and brittle or smooth, supple and glides So here's a little break down.

There are many providers that specialize in looking at the body's celluar makeup and how its performing. I can suggest general fascia care tips but I often refer to other providers for professional comprehensive look and care plan to help their body be well at the celluar level.

Hi! πŸ‘‹
We have quite a few new faces around here lately and more and more buzz about fascial therapy so let me reintroduce myself.

I'm Syvana and I provide fascial release therapy as well as hold my PTA license. I was a pediatric PTA for 8 years as well as worked in outpatient and hospital before venturing on my own. It was never part of my plan, but a couple providers heard I was trained in fascial release, believed in me and wanted to bring it to their wellness space. I was going to have it as a little side gig but soon realized there was a need much higher than what I realized. So here we are almost 3 years later, working full days 5 days a week. 😊

Okay, a common question I get is what do you do?

Short answer, fascial release - Syvana's technique.

Why am I different than other therapists?
I have taken multiple courses as well as have been mentored by some of the best in WI when I was at my first job in Hudson. I have taken my CST courses through Upledger that have the highest standards for CST education as well as other courses to continue to learn different perspectives and refresh on things.

I am trained in CST, MFR, Kinesiotaping, respiratory therapy (Mary massery course work), pelvic floor, as well as taken courses through Lori Hendrickson (oral ties and pre/post natal), Points of Stillness, Tom Meyers and more.
There are lots of courses out there and not all are equal. Many don't require any medical knowledge prior to taking them. This creates a environment difficult to figure out who is credible and who's not. I work very hard to be sure ATOB is held to the highest standards.

I take a little from each and have created a technique unique to me and that's what you receive when you come to ATOB. The body is not a cookbook. God created us each to be unique. That's why there is no one "recipe" that works for all. Your care is individual to you or your family member.

If you haven't heard ATOB is bringing on a new provider to help, Chelsea and she's been my sidekick to help her learn more than the basics taught in a course. 😊

When I'm not working I'm hanging with my family in the country. I love gardening, sunshine and espresso. πŸ‘©β€πŸŒΎβ˜•οΈβ˜€οΈπŸ’
