On March 14th, Governor Jay Inslee signed into law SB 5829.

This law directs the Washington State Department of Health to create educational resources about the nature and consequences of in-utero exposure to CMV and strategies to reduce the transmission of CMV while pregnant. SB 5829 also directs the Board of Health to consider adopting CMV screening by December 31, 2025.
