Happy 75th Wedding Anniversary! 💍🎉

Rose and Joe have built a beautiful life together, filled with love, understanding and countless memories. From running their butcher shop to sharing quiet moments at home, their relationship has been grounded in trust, faith and patience.

Their advice to young couples: "Have understanding and trust, learn to forgive and have faith. If you have problems, sit down and talk to each other."

They've shared laughs, memories and funny moments – like their wedding day being followed by a full day of work at the butcher shop! 🥩😄

We’re so grateful Rose and Joe chose Atria Park of Glen Ellyn as their home.

🎨 Meet Joan, a talented artist and resident at Atria Rocklin! With a lifetime of painting experience and a love for teaching, Joan has brought her passion for art into her community. Her creative journey began as a young girl inspired by nature's beauty, which continues to fuel her work today. Joan loves sharing her techniques, encouragement and laughter with fellow residents.

Her advice to young artists? "Be happy with your art even if it's not perfect because perfect will come with hard work." We’re thrilled to see the joy and calm painting brings to Joan and how it inspires everyone around her!

We believe that people belong together, and nothing proves that more than seeing the joy that comes when new friendships form!

We love seeing the connections that develop at Atria Park of Ann Arbor during their "Speed Friending" program each month. It has become such a fun way for residents and staff throughout the building to connect with each other!

"I like to meet new people, and having the question prompts helps the conversation," shares Carol, one of the resident participants. "I've made a new friend through the process. We eat dinner together now!"

It was a full house at Atria North Point's resident talent show!

Musicians, singers, actors and poets all took the stage to show off their skills and entertain their fellow residents.

"I had so much fun as master of ceremony," shares Sheila, who also delighted fellow residents with her rendition of Summertime from Gershwin's "Porgy and Bess." Sheila has years of performing under her belt and was keen to help organize the event.

"My favorite performance was by Ila, one of my neighbors, who played the piano beautifully," she adds. "And there's no slowing us down. Stay tuned for another well-attended show in early 2025!"

What an amazing group of talented people all in the same community. Bravo!

"Creating art makes me feel focused and in charge of my life," shares William, a resident of Atria Stamford. "I feel I am using the special ability I was given to express myself and I hope my art prompts other people to be excited about visually exploring this visual world!"

A retired professor of fine arts with experience teaching drawing, etching, watercolor, woodblock, lithography, graphic design and more, William continues pursuing his passion through painting. "I would encourage other artists to keep working. And when an idea is worth risking – do it!"

"I believe that artists should work as long as possible," he shares from his studio, surrounded by paint and works in progress. "I'm pleased that I'm producing images that I believe are honest to my life journey. Older adults are full of life passions. Channel them into your artwork!"

Meet Dick, Patty and Judy from Atria Merrimack Place! 🌟

These three residents share a special bond dating back to their teenage years. Husband and wife, Dick and Patty, are high school sweethearts. Patty's childhood friend Judy reunited with the couple when she moved into their community.

Recently visited by cheerleaders and football players from their alma mater, Dick fondly remembers his days as captain of the Newburyport High School football team, especially the camaraderie and victories over their rival Amesbury. Patty fondly recalls cheering on the team with Judy.

When asked about living in the same community as their best friends, Judy shared, “It’s just amazing. Patty and I have been friends since first grade, and we’ve shared so much over the years. Now we get to enjoy every day together again, just like when we were young.”
