In the relaxed and peaceful environment of our healing arts center we provide hands-on therapies and movement practices to assist your healing and relaxation process. Therapies including chiropractic, acupuncture, microcurrent and various massage styles, are all tailored and administered to your specific needs, whether recovering from injury, dealing with pain or de-stressing after a challenging d

ay. Our therapeutic philosophy blends classical and modern disciplines of Eastern and Western origins tailored to the underlying issues of each individual. Your needs are optimally addressed through the experience of each practitioner in concert with the resources of the group. Whether you are dealing with a new injury, chronic pain or you require a new way to manage the many demands of life, our objective is to build long-term relationships based on your wellness goals. Since our inception in 1993, it has been our vision to create a healing arts center that is the catalyst for generating a better quality of life for our clients through education, movement and various therapeutic disciplines in order to produce deep healing, greater awareness and knowledge of the body. We intend the Bodysattva Healing Arts Center to be a place where you can slow down enough to listen to your body, acquire self-awareness techniques and experience healing modalities to bring about a deep level of relaxation, balanced body-mind integration and healing. The term ‘Bodysattva’ was born out of this vision and, translated loosely
from Sanskrit, pairs ‘body’ (bod-ee) with ‘sattva’ (sahtvah) or ‘awareness.’

“Sattva is a state of mind in which the mind is steady, calm and peaceful. Sattva may be defined as pure existence, awareness, being, truth, intelligence, virtue, goodness, joy, the middle path, balance”

Or simply put, the desire to practice and deepen the connection to and access our closest resource, our own body’s wisdom.

A gentle heads-up: our class schedule will be slightly modified this Memorial Day weekend. 💛

This is a time to pause and remember those who gave their lives in service—and to reflect on how we each can cultivate peace in our own hearts, homes, and relationships.

Yoga gives us tools to do just that: breath by breath, moment by moment.
Check https://www.wellnessliving.com/schedule/bodysattva for updated class times and we'll see you in the studio.

Wishing you a safe, peace-filled weekend. 🙏🪬🕉

We are very excited to announce a new appointment offering: Assisted Table Stretching!
If you find that stretching on your own just never seems like enough or doesn't offer enough relief, assisted stretching may just be the remedy.

Assisted Table Stretching is a one-on-one bodywork practice where a certified personal trainer and registered yoga teacher helps you stretch deeper and more effectively than you might on your own. A typical session includes Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), a technique that utilizes dynamic and static stretching to maximize the depth and benefits of each stretch. This treatment is for clients looking to improve mobility and reduce pain and tension; continuing care leads to more freedom of movement and a wider range of motion.

A session will begin with a discussion of goals and any areas of tension or discomfort that require attention, and stretches are tailored to the client's specific needs. The end result is improved flexibility and enhanced overall bodily movement. Afterward, you might feel more open, limber, and relaxed, with a deeper sense of mobility for everyday activities or athletic performance. Sessions are available in both one-off and package options which can be combined with both chiropractic and bodywork care. Call the office for details. 805-497-0300

Our beautiful oak dropped a large piece of itself sunday night, including its big heart 💚. Fortunately, the experts say it will survive after some pruning. 🙏
The ramp is out of commission until a structural engineer deems it safe. Stairs are open. Business is as usual.
If you are not able to make it up the ramp for class or an appointment, please let us know.
The tree was otherwise healthy. I'm guessing it had enough of the heat🔥

Pose of the Week! 🙌 Join us in class to work on it together! 🧘‍♀️✨

- - - - - -

Benefits of Warrior II (Virabhadrasana II):
*Strengthens the Lower Body: engages and strengthens the front of the thighs, activates and tones the back of the legs and buttocks, and works on improving calf strength and stability.
*Improves Balance and Stability: enhances overall balance and coordination by engaging the core and stabilizing muscles.
*Increases Flexibility: opens and stretches the hip joints, and lengthens and stretches the adductors (inner thigh muscles).
*Enhances core strength and improves posture.
*Boosts Endurance: holding the pose builds muscular endurance and stamina.
*Stimulates Circulation: promotes blood flow to the lower limbs and helps to energize the body.
*Mental Focus: encourages concentration and mental clarity as you focus on maintaining the pose.
*Breathing Efficiency: enhances awareness of breath and encourages deep, controlled breathing.

Avoid Warrior II or speak to your doctor if you have anything of the following:
*Knee Issues: avoid or modify the pose if you have a knee injury or chronic knee pain, as the pose places significant stress on the knee joint.
*Hip Injuries or Conditions: be cautious if you have recent hip injuries, hip replacements, or severe hip arthritis. Modification or avoiding the pose might be necessary.
*Lower Back Problems: If you have lower back issues or recent back injuries, be mindful of maintaining proper alignment to avoid straining the lower back.
*High Blood Pressure: people with high blood pressure should practice caution, as the pose can increase their heart rate and blood pressure.
*Pregnancy: Pregnant individuals should modify the pose to avoid excessive pressure on the abdomen and lower back. Consult with a healthcare provider or yoga instructor for modifications suitable for pregnancy.
*Shoulder Injuries: those with shoulder injuries should be cautious about extending their arms and may need to modify the arm positioning.
*Glaucoma: if you have glaucoma or other eye conditions, avoid turning the head to the side as it may increase intraocular pressure.
