I am the most experienced doctor in Southern California performing Revolutionary doppler hemorrhoid surgery WITHOUT cutting • DGHAL - RAR from AMI, Inc
Proctologist (butt doctor) is an old fashioned term defining a surgeon specializing in the a**s. The term was replaced with colorectal surgeon in the 1940’s as the surgeons performed and specialized in surgeries for the colon, re**um, a**s and small bowel. The surgeries were so specialized that a “Colon and Re**al Surgery Society” and a board certification were developed. I am a double board certified in general surgery and Colorectal surgery/proctology. I am now a “pure proctologist” as I stopped performing major bowel surgery in 2013 to focus on diseases of the a**s. I still perform colonoscopies on a regular basis as well.
My goal is to offer excellent care in the field of proctology and colonoscopy. My staff and I are committed to providing a warm, caring and compassionate environment for the patient. It’s important for the patient to feel comfortable in order to facilitate a discussion of his/her problems. This honesty maximizes my ability to give the best care possible.
Patients coming to a proctologist are often anxious, scared and embarrassed to talk about hemorrhoids, a**l itching, bleeding, a**l lumps, a**l warts, a**l herpes, etc. Patients have expectations of being shamed and blamed for their disease. They also expect a lot of pain with the exam. One thing for sure, I do not judge of any of my patients. My role is to listen, without judgement, and to do my best to resolve the issue. I work hard to make the exam as pleasant and painless as possible. These are gifts I am blessed and honored to have.
I know when a patient feels heard and is given a thorough explanation of his/her condition and a treatment plan. Anxiety and even symptoms begin to improve just from these simple steps. Though I am a surgeon, my main goal is to keep patients out of the operating room. I
do this with office based therapy and natural, non-medicinal nutritional supplements like Psyllium fiber (PERFECT P.O.O.P.), probiotics (ProbioMax) and antioxidants to shrink hemorrhoids (R.H.O.I.D. – AID). I do prescribe steroid ointments and suppositories when needed.
When surgery is necessary for hemorrhoids I choose the least invasive approach to hemorrhoids called the Doppler hemorrhoid surgery. Regardless of the type of surgery performed for any anorectal ailment, I explain the procedure, the risks and the recovery in great detail with the patient before all surgeries.
As you can imagine, proctology is not a glamorous field, so a good sense of humor is important. Most of my patients ask why I became a proctologist. My answer is simple. Regardless of the profession, in order to succeed we must, “start at the bottom and work our way up”.
