Because of your incredible support, we assembled 1,100 kits filled with essential supplies and resources for immigrant families and farmworkers across Ventura County.

In response to rising fear in our immigrant communities, Conejo Free Clinic is launching a focused Immigration Support Initiative.

We are hand-delivering 2,000 medical and dental outreach kits to farmworkers and families who are often too afraid to seek help. These kits include essential supplies and a message: You are not alone.

We are also expanding our services with telehealth and mental health support to make care even more accessible.

🌿 You can help: Just $5 reaches one more person.

Conejo Free Clinic is honored to shine a spotlight on Dr. Paul J. Dougherty, M.D. of DLV Vision, who has generously provided life-changing cataract surgeries — completely free of charge — to our patients in need.

Join us in celebrating this incredible work at the Andrew Dougherty Vision Foundation Gala on May 31 — an evening dedicated to restoring sight and changing lives.

Just one simple surgery — often costing less than a weekend dinner — can give someone their vision, independence, and hope for the future.

🎶 Gala guests are also invited to a special concert on May 29 featuring Garza of Thievery Corporation - a celebration of music, joy, and the gift of vision.

Even if you can’t attend the gala, you are welcome at the concert. Every act of support matters.

Hosted by California Strong and the Southeast Ventura YMCA, the event also brought to the site to distribute gift cards. Lestonnac Free Clinic also provided mobile vision services—including screenings and prescription glasses dispensed and cut on-site.

Over 200 families attended this incredible event, receiving much needed support including gift cards, brand new clothing, shoes, hygiene kits, and more.

We’re grateful to stand alongside so many dedicated partners to serve those impacted by the recent fires - and to help our community take meaningful steps toward recovery.

Meet Penny: A Story of Resilience and Transformation

When Penny moved to our community from Oregon, she hoped for a fresh start near her family. Instead, she faced unexpected challenges. With her new trailer home delayed for three months, she found herself couch-hopping and staying in motels, navigating a period of overwhelming uncertainty.

Amid this turmoil, Penny was told she needed multiple teeth extracted—an expense far beyond her reach.

“At that point, I lost it,” Penny recalled.

That’s when she was referred to the Conejo Free Clinic, and everything changed.

"You have no idea," Penny shared. "It’s like somebody up there was on my side. They said, ‘Okay, you’ve suffered enough. We’re going to help you out on this one.’ It was like the stars were aligned.”

Thanks to the compassionate care of Dr. Les Sutton, Sheri Jo, and our incredible dental team, Penny received the treatment she desperately needed for free. After multiple visits and adjustments, Penny’s life was transformed.

“Now I have a full smile,” she said.

“It’s a miracle. I’m so grateful. It’s improved my quality of life so much. I can’t praise this program enough.”

Stories like Penny’s remind us of the profound impact that accessible, compassionate care can have. At the Conejo Free Clinic, we’re honored to be part of these life-changing moments, working alongside a dedicated team of volunteers to provide critical medical, dental, and legal services to those who need them most.
