Massachusetts Residents,
ATTENTION Domestic Violence (DV) Survivors: I am conducting research as part of the requirements for a Doctor of Education degree at Liberty University. The purpose of my research is to better understand how belief in God impacted survivors of severe abuse in leaving and rebuilding their life post-violence. To participate, you must be 18 years or older, are a domestic violence survivor of severe abuse (Abuse occurred over 3 separate occasions and included physical abuse), is someone of faith who believes in God, have rebuilt your life post-abuse, and the abuse must have occurred over 18 months ago. Additionally, participants will be asked to complete a WEB questionnaire, Resilience Scale, and screening survey to determine eligibility. Participants, will be asked to complete a take home journal that will be emailed (estimated to take 20-30 minutes) depending on your depth. Optionally create or turn in a creative submission (estimated to take 20 minutes). Attend a 90-minute audio-recorded interview in person and 20- 30 minutes for data analysis review post-interview. If you are determined to be eligible for this study, a consent document will be emailed to you one week before the interview, and you will need to sign and return it at the time of the interview.
