Happy solar eclipse day!! As amazing as this event is, the doctors at Southwest Vision Center would like to remind you not to look directly at the eclipse without proper eye protection. Gazing at the eclipse can cause solar retinopathy which is damage to the macula. The macula is responsible for your central vision. Damage to this area of your retina can cause permanent distorted vision. This blur cannot be fixed with glasses, contact lenses or surgery. Please view this beautiful natural phenomenon safely!! 🌞🌒🕶️

Job Opening - Optemetric Technician

As an optometric technician you help pretest patients, take a detailed medical history, order contacts, train for contact lens insertion and removal, perform specialty testing and send correspondence to other medical professionals. Candidate must have computer skills, attention to detail, an upbeat personality that can work with others, a team player and willing to learn. We are a small 3 location private practice and very occasionally may need to travel to Dowagiac or Three Rivers to cover others vacations. We offer sick/vacation time, vision benefits and holiday pay. We do not work weekends or holidays. Monday is 9-6, Tuesday-Thursday 8-5 and Friday 8-1.
