Parking Lot Glow-Up Starts Thursday! 🛠️✨

We’re giving our Virginia Beach office lot a fresh new look — milling and paving will take place Thursday (5/16) and Friday (5/17)!

Yes, we are OPEN and ready to see you! ✅

If you’re visiting us:
➡️ Park in the area marked in blue on the map.
⛔️ Do not turn into our regular entrance. Instead, turn in one driveway earlier — behind Firehouse Subs.

There will be signs and crews helping direct you upon arrival.

Congratulations to Dr. Willcoxon and her husband, Jesse!

We’re thrilled to share that Dr. Willcoxon is officially married! 💍 On May 2nd, she and Jesse celebrated their love with a perfect, joy-filled day—complete with courthouse vows, spontaneous photo stops with dinosaurs 🦕, beachside moments at sunset 🌅, and the kindness of strangers who helped make the day extra special.

Sidewalk Construction Update at Gilbert Eyecare!

Phase 1 of our sidewalk renovation is underway today, and concrete is scheduled to be poured this coming Monday.

Heads up! Our main entrance will be temporarily closed on Monday during the pour. But don’t worry—we’ll have clear signage pointing you to an alternate entrance ➡️🚪

We recommend allowing a few extra minutes ⏰ when arriving for your appointment. Thank you for your patience as we improve the safety and appearance of our space!

Starting tomorrow (Friday, 4/11) at 12:00 PM, our Virginia Beach location will close to the public as we begin an exciting transformation of our retail space! ✨

Today is your last chance to stop by before the changes begin — but don’t worry,

✅ Our Norfolk location is still available for all your eye care needs.

🔁 We'll reopen as usual on Monday, but please plan ahead — parking lot and sidewalk construction will be happening over the next few weeks. Give yourself a little extra time to arrive safely!

🚨 Important Winter Safety Tip! 🚨

While polarized sunglasses are fantastic for reducing glare and improving visibility, be cautious when you're dealing with black ice this winter. ❄️👓

Polarized lenses can help eliminate blinding reflections off snow, water, or ice, but they can also make black ice harder to detect because they reduce the glare that usually makes it visible. This means you might not spot that slippery patch on the sidewalk or road as easily as you would without them.

If you’re wearing polarized sunglasses in winter, stay extra alert for changes in the road or ground surface. When you're walking or driving, pay attention to subtle texture or color changes in the pavement—don’t rely solely on the lenses for visibility!

Black ice is incredibly dangerous, so combine your eyewear with extra caution, especially during early mornings or late afternoons when the sun is low. 🌅🚶‍♀️🚗
