An interesting experiment conducted by young students in England. They took one genetically modified corn and one grown in the old country way without GMOs.

They put these two corns on pins at the local squirrel park. And in the next few days, the results of the experiment were obvious.

Picked a batch of tayberrys today, will try again to create a pie. The last one I made did not firm up after baking, tasted delicious but did not setup. Tayberrys are very similar to wine berries in taste and size.

Been watching and participating locally for several years now, I am excited by the progress being made solving difficult problems.

Mushrooms are pretty darn good sprinkled over a pizza or served alongside bacon, but they’re even better when used to soak up toxic waste, create clothes, or revolutionise construction.

Master Gardener Classes January 2020

Do you enjoy gardening? Would you like to learn more? The OSU Extension
Seneca County Master Gardeners will be offering training to become a Master
Gardener.

Classes will begin January 29, from 9 am to 4 pm, each Wednesday, for 10
weeks. No previous knowledge is required; just the desire to learn more about
gardening of all types, and to share that knowledge with others.

The cost of the course is $175. Applications can be picked up at the OSU
Extension office, 3140 S St Rt 100, Tiffin, during office hours, or by contacting
Janet Cole at 567-220-7059 and leaving a message to have an application mailed to
you.

If you have any questions, please contact Janet, the Extension office at 419-447-
9722, or any Master Gardener. There will be a $50 discount for applications
received early, as long as funds are available.
