We’re excited to welcome Megan Smith, APRN-CNP, to Tiffin's Mercy Health – Heart & Vascular Institute team!

Megan brings 12 years of experience as a cardiovascular ICU nurse to her new role as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Inspired from a young age to help others, she’s built her career on compassion, collaboration and a deep commitment to patient care.

With a strong interest in cardiovascular health, Megan is passionate about preventive medicine and chronic disease management, especially in adult and older adult populations. She believes in partnering with patients, taking time to listen, understand their goals and empower them to take an active role in their health.

Originally from Willard, Megan is grateful for the opportunity to serve close to home and make a lasting difference in her community. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her daughter, being outdoors, crafting, reading, cooking and staying active.

Please join us in welcoming Julie Melendez, NP, to Mercy Health — Tiffin Urology!

From the age of 12, Julie knew she was called to medicine. Her journey began as a state-tested nursing assistant (STNA) in 1991, followed by her RN in 1998 and MSN, CNP in 2009. She has worked in urgent care and orthopedics and is now excited to bring her expertise to urology.

Julie is passionate about educating her patients—not just about medicine, but about lifestyle changes that can improve overall health. She believes strong communication and teamwork between patient and provider are key to great care.

Outside of work, Julie enjoys reading and attending concerts with her family.

Mercy Health — Tiffin Hospital is "Prioritizing Breastfeeding" to remind everyone just how important it is.

Emily Arredondo, hospital lactation consultant, spearheads a program to provide breast pump fl**ge sizing and a set of fl**ges for patients. This program is being funded with a grant from the NRP Group and Mercy Health Foundation — Tiffin. Lactation services are complimentary and include prenatal consultations, inpatient support and follow-up breastfeeding support as needed. Emily can be contacted at 419-455-7006.

Taking steps toward healthier futures! Mercy Health — Tiffin Hospital appreciates the Seneca County Park District for their continued partnership and commitment to enhancing health and well-being through the power of nature. Recently, a ribbon cutting took place for a new trail at the Mercy Nature Preserve on a Seneca County General Health District designated Walking Wednesday, a weekly reminder for all of us to get outside, move our bodies and invest in our health.

The new trail creates new opportunities for physical activity, mindfulness and connection—with nature and with each other. It’s a space where health and healing can begin long before someone walks through our hospital doors.

Mercy Health — Tiffin Hospital is proud to support this initiative and proud to be part of a community that works together to create healthier futures. Thank you again to Seneca Parks and to everyone who made this project a reality. Let’s keep walking—today and every day!

Join us in celebrating Kallie Keller, Lead RN at Mercy Health — Tiffin Hospital, who received the well-deserved DAISY Award! Her kindness, expertise and heartfelt care make every birthing experience extraordinary. Thank you, Kallie, for being a true blessing to so many families!

Kallie's award nominator shared, "I was lucky enough to not only have Kallie Keller for one birth but two! I was there in January of 2023 and January of 2025. Without going into too much detail, I have had a tragic family event involving childbirth and I was absolutely terrified of having a baby and wasn't sure I ever wanted one. So, giving birth was something I didn't take lightly. In January of 2023, not only did she walk in the room with a smile, distract me from pain and let me lie my head on her shoulder during contractions and an epidural, but she also made the whole birthing experience smooth and positive.

She explained everything that was going on, discussed things with me before doing them, talked me through everything and made the birthing process more of an informal get-together with friends versus a daunting procedure of unknowns. Following birth, she taught and assisted me with feeding and nursing the baby, answered all my questions and concerns, helped me in the bathroom and so much more. She did it all with a smile and an upbeat mood that made me feel acknowledged, seen and heard.

For my second child, I was being induced and came in early. Before I walked in, I said a quick prayer for a wonderful nurse, great care and a healthy baby. During shift change, in she walked. It was like a prayer had been answered and I honestly couldn't believe it. All my nerves were instantly gone. My childbirth experience was fantastic. She was always one step ahead. She recalled my last birth experience. She answered all my questions. And went over the top to take care of not only my baby but myself.

I couldn't have asked for better birthing experiences and I believe Kallie helped make the biggest difference with both deliveries. She is patient, kind and comforting. She is extremely knowledgeable, willing to provide education and assistance and very personable with her own experiences. I personally loved all the nurses on the day and night shift. So much that I always recommend everyone to deliver in Tiffin due to the care and nurses/doctors. Thank you for the amazing care. And thank you, Kallie, you were truly an answered prayer."

Celebrating Susan Reinhart for her unwavering dedication and compassionate care! 🌟 Her passion for nursing and diabetes education inspires us all. Congratulations on receiving the Nursing Excellence Award.

"Susan is dedicated to serving our community and helps people understand how they can improve their diabetes control! Susan loves her job, which comes across in her compassionate approach and service. She educates people in a caring manner and patients love her.

Susan routinely comes in on her day off to see inpatient consults, see a gestational diabetic, or help someone who left her a voicemail. She has given patients her cell number because of her concern for them. She has called a patient every day (weekends included) due to a patient's low blood sugar until they could see endocrinology.

Susan is an amazing role model. She inspires others with her love of being a nurse and a diabetes educator. She compels everyone she encounters to be compassionate and caring."
