They’re packed with:

And that combination can support:

→ blood sugar regulation

👉 People who live the longest tend to eat beans regularly.

In fact, research has shown that legume intake is one of the strongest dietary predictors of longevity across different populations.

And in areas of the world where people live the longest (often called “Blue Zones”), beans are a daily staple.

Not expensive supplements.
Not complicated diets.

Just simple, consistent habits—like including beans more regularly.

If there’s one food I consistently wish my clients ate more of… it’s beans.

And not green beans—
I mean black beans, chickpeas, lentils, pinto beans.

They’re one of the simplest ways to add more fiber, protein, and key nutrients to your day—without overcomplicating things.

But a lot of people either don’t eat them… or think they don’t like them.

“Who should you trust for nutrition advice?”

A client sent me this message today for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day, and it meant a lot. ❤️

March is National Nutrition Month, and today we celebrate the work dietitians do to help people navigate nutrition in a world full of confusing and often conflicting advice.

Nutrition information is everywhere—social media, podcasts, influencers, books—but not all of it is reliable. That’s why credentialed professionals matter.

Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs):
• Complete extensive education in nutrition science
• Complete supervised clinical training
• Pass a national board exam
• Maintain continuing education throughout their career

If you’re ever unsure about nutrition advice you see online, it’s always okay to ask:
“What does the evidence say?”

In addition to working one-on-one with clients, I also serve as an Associate Adjunct Professor. Mondays are my class-focused days, and this week my students are discussing weight stigma. It’s always one of the hardest discussions to read because so many people carry painful memories of body-size criticism that replay in their minds for years.

While watching the Super Bowl, I saw a powerful Dove commercial about girls quitting sports after being criticized for their body size. It brought tears to my eyes: https://youtu.be/jnpn1u21DT8?si=KrUStNMMh9Fs04jf

Moments like this remind me why this work matters so much. We can move our bodies, live fully, and be capable at every size, across genders, and across levels of physical ability. Every person deserves respect, dignity, and support—not criticism.

Let’s continue working toward a world where kindness replaces body shaming, in locker rooms, classrooms, clinics, and conversations everywhere.

All bodies are good bodies. 💛

Ever feel tempted to eat something just because it looks delicious? That’s sight hunger.

Sight hunger happens when you’re drawn to food based on how it looks—like a perfectly frosted cupcake or a colorful fruit platter—even if you’re not physically hungry.

This kind of hunger is normal and valid.
✨ Eating with your eyes is part of the experience—and honoring that desire without guilt supports a peaceful relationship with food.
