Mr. Walter, President and CEO of Community Mortuary, LLC. is a third generation Funeral Home Owner. He currently owns Community Mortuary, LLC. located at 102 West 13 1/2 Street, Tifton, Georgia 31794. He also currently has the title of Manager at Thornton Funeral Home in Hazelhurst, Georgia. Among these, he also serves as a business consultant at Fields Funeral Home. Mr. Walter has lived in Tifton all of his life and is a faithful member of Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church.
One of our newest addtions, Reverend Charles McDonald, now serves as our COO at Community Mortuary. He also is the Owner of Fields Funeral Home in Sylvester, Georgia. Mr. McDonald comes highly recommended and ready to serve the citizens of our community. Mr. McDonald is often recognized by his infectious smile and singing abilities.
Ms. Pat Melton (LFD/EMB) graduated from Albany State University in 1972 where she received a degree in Political Science. She later transferred to Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service and graduated honors as a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. Ms. Pat is a second generation LFD & Embalmer. She also holds a National Funeral Director's License from Gupton-Jones. She served as the NAACP President (Tifton Chapter) for 40+ years before retiring. She is currently one of our LFD & Embalmer at Community Mortuary, LLC. in Tifton, Georgia. In addition to Ms. Melton, her brother James Melton, graduated from Morris Brown College in 1972. He later attended Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service where he graduated honors in 1974 as a Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer. He also holds a National LFD/EMB license. Later on, Mr. Melton came back to his hometown of Tifton to manage Melton Funeral Home. He continued his funeral career by being a LFD/EMB at Community Mortuary, LLC. He has 44 years of experience. He now owns and manages Thornton Funeral Home in Hazelhurst, Georgia.
