Interested in foam sclerotherapy to address unsightly varicose veins? During foam sclerotherapy, a sclerosant solution is injected into the affected veins, causing them to collapse. These damaged veins will be absorbed by the body and blood flow will naturally be rerouted through other, healthy veins. Visit our website to learn more!

Did you know?

Varicose and spider veins often develop because of a condition called Venous Reflux. This occurs when the tiny valves inside your veins become damaged, allowing blood to flow backward instead of toward the heart. Over time, this can cause veins to bulge, twist, or appear on the skin’s surface.

Understanding the cause is the first step toward healthier legs!

This October, Inovia Vein Specialty Centers proudly joins the global effort to raise awareness about venous disease, varicose veins, lymphedema, and deep vein thrombosis (DVT) – serious conditions that often go undiagnosed but can have life-changing consequences if left untreated.

As part of our World Thrombosis Day outreach, Dr. Toshio Nagamoto, board-certified surgeon and Director of Inovia Vein’s Northwest Portland clinic, presented at the Age Better! Senior Resource Fair in Portland. His session – “Tired Legs, Swollen Ankles, and Skin That Won’t Heal” – helped seniors and caregivers recognize the early signs of venous insufficiency and DVT, sparking important conversations about leg health and prevention.

Through community events like this, we’re helping Oregonians learn how early detection and treatment can improve circulation, mobility, and overall quality of life.

Compression pumps are increasingly recognized as an effective treatment for lymphedema. By applying uniform pressure over the affected extremity, swelling is reduced and the accumulated fluid moves back into the body, where it can be naturally eliminated.

Today is World Thrombosis Day – October 13

Every year, World Thrombosis Day raises awareness about the serious and often silent condition known as thrombosis - the formation of dangerous blood clots in the veins or arteries. The goal is to help save lives through awareness, early recognition, and prevention.

One of the most common types is Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) — a blood clot that forms deep in the leg, and if left untreated can potentially become life-threatening.

Symptoms of DVT may include:

-Pain in calf muscle or behind the knee, increased when standing or walking

-Symptoms are usually in one leg, not both

-Swelling and/or redness in the lower leg

If you suspect you may be experiencing symptoms of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), seek immediate medical attention.
Go to an urgent care, emergency room, or call 9-1-1. Early diagnosis and treatment can prevent serious complications, including pulmonary embolism.

Let’s stand together this World Thrombosis Day to raise awareness, protect one another, and reduce the impact of blood clots in our communities.

Varicose veins may be more than just a cosmetic concern – they can be visible signs of a condition known as chronic venous insufficiency (CVI). This condition is often caused by venous reflux, or the backward flow of blood in the veins.

Whether you’re seeking treatment for medical relief or cosmetic improvement, our experienced team is here to answer your questions and discuss personalized solutions.
