Whether it’s a road trip or a long flight, traveling can leave your body stiff, sore, and out of balance. Luckily, a few mindful habits can help you stay comfortable along the way.
Here are some tips to protect your spine and prevent pain while traveling:
• Pack light and lift smart–bend your knees and use your legs, not your back, when handling luggage.
• Support your neck–bring in a small travel pillow to avoid awkward sleeping positions.
• Stretch and move often–on flights, stand and walk when you can; on road trips, take stretch breaks.
• Stay hydrated–water keeps joints lubricated and reduces muscle cramps.
• Mind your posture–sit tall, avoid slouching, and use lumbar support if available.
A little preparation goes a long way in keeping your trip pain-free and enjoyable.
Book a chiropractic or massage session after your travels to reset your body and recover from the journey.
