Urban Gleaners is a local resource to reduce food waste and food insecurity. If you are facing loss of SNAP benefits next week, or are struggling with increasing food costs in general, it’s one resource. I’ll try to post more resources this week. If you’re not facing food insecurity, consider donating to one of these organizations.

Recently one of our Woodlawn Park market shoppers shared a photo diary of her Urban Gleaners grocery hauls for an entire year. She shops this market to feed her family and to offset rising costs on other vital necessities.

750,000 Oregonians are at risk of losing their SNAP benefits starting November 1st meaning access to nutritious food will be more important than ever before.

We’ve already seen a yearly 25% increase in attendance at our markets and we’re expecting to see that number grow even more starting next month.

With support from our community, we’re able to provide wholesome groceries to food insecure families year-round. As we prepare for this major shift in food access, your support will make more impact than ever.

ATTN: SNAP CUSTOMERS!
The market is encouraging those with SNAP food benefits to shop the market and stock up on shelf stable foods and storage crops prior to Nov 1st given the uncertainty surrounding government funding for recipients. Our next market is Oct 25th from 9am-2pm.

Our Story

Acupuncture treatments and herbal support based on East Asian Medicine theory. Offering classical Five-Element treatments for all ages and gentle, non-insertion pediatric care. Cupping only appointments are also available.

I practice from a social justice lens and believe in body sovereignty. I also believe that all bodies deserve access to caring and quality healthcare. I want to engage with you collaboratively on ways to create more ease in your life, both physically and emotionally. As a person with thin, white privilege practicing East Asian Medicine: #1 this is not MY medicine. This is medicine on loan to me from people who were excluded from this land, denied votes, some interned, many ridiculed or fetishized. I owe it to them to work to dismantle systems that continue to other and oppress marginalized voices. I see it as the cost of being loaned this medicine. #2 illness is often the result of systemic oppression. I can treat the results while working to correct the source for the most effective community health.
