In September’s episode of the Tillamook Today Podcast, Dental Program Manager, Brad Wangsgard and Dental Hygienist, Jennifer Wustenberg, with the Tillamook County Community Health Centers (TCCHC), join in to share all about the center’s dental program.

Located at 805 Ivy Avenue (Suite B), the clinic provides a range of services including annual dental exams, screenings, cleanings, X-rays, fluoride varnish and sealants for children and youth under age 16. All are welcome to receive services including uninsured patients, Oregon Health Plan members, Open card and CareOregon Dental members.

In addition to services provided in the clinic, the TCCHC dental van goes to all three school districts in Tillamook County to provide dental services to students in K-8th grade. Services provided at the schools are at no cost to the students and their families. Services include dental screenings, fluoride and sealants provided by a dental hygienist. The students are also provided with education on proper nutrition, brushing and flossing teeth.

If you would like to schedule an appointment or have any questions about services, you can call the dental clinic at (503) 842-2356.

Our children's well-being is a shared responsibility. We all have a role in building a "village" that supports the mental health of every child.

In our latest blog post, former educator Mariah Decker shares her powerful philosophy on nurturing the whole child, the importance of a trauma-informed approach, and the critical role our community plays.

Sharing this important information and training opportunity for our friends at Tillamook County Su***de Prevention Coalition.

Recognizing the signs of su***de risk in young people can save lives. During ***dePreventionMonth, learn the warning signs and if you notice any in yourself or others, it's important to take them seriously.

And these are just a few clues to watch for. There are so many more. A great way to learn more is to take a QPR training. There is one being offered on September 10th at 5:30pm at the Tillamook Main Library. Free and open to the public.

If you would like some prevention materials that have the warning signs on them, come see us on Saturday, September 6th at the Tillamook Farmers Market.

In August’s episode of the Tillamook Today Podcast, Dr. Dale Westrom, MD, PhD, FAAD, with the Tillamook County Community Health Centers joins in to share about dermatological (skin care) services.

Did you know that your skin is the largest organ in your body? In fact, in one year, you could shed up to nine pounds of skin! That’s a lot of skin!

Our skin plays a huge role in protecting our bodies, especially from germs and infections. If you’ve ever had a bad sunburn, you know how important it is to protect your skin. Dr. Westrom shares that some of the key ways to protect our skin other than regular sunscreen use involves wearing protective clothing and limiting our time in direct sun. Although we don’t live in the sunniest of places, it is still possible to get a bad sunburn and even skin cancer.

If you have concerns about your skin or would like to have a dermatologist perform a screening, Dr. Dale Westrom is currently seeing patients at the Main Street Clinic at 800 Main Avenue Tillamook on Wednesdays between now and October 22, 2025. Physician Associate, Dove Rainbow, is currently being trained in dermatological care by Dr. Westrom and is also seeing patients. To book an appointment, call (503) 842-3900 today!
