Our mission is to provide the best quality of life for New Hampshire veterans with dignity, honor and respect. We are an intermediate, long term care facility offering a broad range of residential, medical, and nursing care. NHVH has formalized agreements with both the Department of Veterans Affairs and local hospitals for inpatient hospitalization and specialized outpatient care. Health care services include pharmacy, dentistry, podiatry, psychiatry, and optometry. Our resident-centered care services also include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, dietary services, and spiritual care. Admissions are open to all veterans who have been honorably discharged, including Reserve and NH Air and Army National Guard members. Serving in combat or have a service-connected disability is not required for eligibility. There is no minimum age for admission. Applicants must be a resident of the State of New Hampshire for one year preceding application, or prove New Hampshire as home of record upon discharge. An applicant’s condition(s) must be within the Home’s resources and ability to treat, and the applicant does not present potential harm to self or other residents. Financial certification is required; information is available by contacting the Admissions Coordinators at (603) 527-4843. About the NHVH Social Media Engagement:

Today many of us wore blue for brain injury awareness. After yesterday’s snowfall, we enjoyed the welcome spring sunshine, making for a bright and cheerful day inside and out. Heather showed David the WMUR-TV NH Chronicle short clip promoting tonight's segment with our veterans. (Tune in at 7!) Residents gathered for cards and cribbage; got moving with a lively game of balloon volleyball; were happy to welcome wonderful guitar playing and singing with David Jenne; enjoyed exploring creativity with painting; Justin read the worst Dad jokes he could find; and our Recreation Therapy team finally got a chance to gather as a team to celebrate recreational therapy month.
A great Wednesday full of activity, music, and creativity.

Shout out to two members of our amazing nursing team: Tawni Ford and Christine White, who shared ideas - and a family member's talents - to bring a great idea to fruition...
A while back, Tawni mentioned her vision of a resource to share her love of books with her colleagues. Christine mentioned her husband Dave's talent with woodworking. Fast forward to today, and now our employees are enjoying this amazing donation of a little Free Library! Many thanks to Dave White for this beautifully crafted treasure that will help our team members share their love of reading for years to come! What a great way to celebrate Dr. Suess day yesterday. 📚

We wrapped up February at the wonderful “Salute to Service” at the VFW Laconia Post 1670. Shout out to Lakes Region BBQ, David and Janice Malone, who graciously sponsored our veterans' attendance - and provided event catering! It was delicious. Kudos for a wonderful lineup of guest speakers who were both humorous and proud. We were honored to be included! 🇺🇸

We're sharing more fun from our week! Dungeons & Dragons had us sharing our imaginations and laughs as we gathered around the table for another fun session. Our friends from the Belmont American Legion Post 58 joined us for coffee social. We appreciate them making it a point to visit monthly! Our walking group kept the energy going, and Molly the dog made her rounds bringing smiles - as always. Company Beat gathered to share their love of music, and we celebrated a special Birthday Bingo, generously sponsored by VFW & AUX Post 1631 and Kevin Scott. We are so thankful for our wonderful volunteers and community support!

It’s RED Friday at NHVH — our weekly tradition to Remember Everyone Deployed by wearing red, honoring our active military members. On our agenda today was fun rounds of frisbee toss, followed by a visit from Rowan the dog. She’s truly a fan favorite and it’s always great to see the smiles she brings to our residents. Our ladies enjoyed a special spa time with nails and pampering, while Kelley’s Korner offered musical highlights from across the decades.
Wishing everyone a great weekend.

Our theme day yesterday was lavender for National Cancer Prevention month - a meaningful reminder of the importance of awareness, support, and staying proactive about our health. Our veterans enjoyed kickball, Hiker (the dog), art studio, and a wonderful Kelley’s Kitchen session where residents enjoyed homemade sauce they made along with pasta from Jack Fontaine of Sant Bani School. He jumped right in and enjoyed helping Kelley prepare shrimp scampi for our veterans. Moments like that truly bridge generations. We also visited with Brig. Gen. Erik Fessenden. He spent time chatting with veterans, sharing laughs, and catching up. As he prepares for retirement, we congratulate him and wish him the very best!

We love having the nice 'problem' of having so many pictures that we run out of days to post them! We're not letting another day go by without posting these great pics from this month to give a shout out to:
- Andrew & Ava & Friends Charity: the "Lemon-Aid Stand", also from Pelham. These amazing youth raised $1,000 that they generously gave to our Resident Benefit Fund for our veterans!
- Madeline Dreusicke and the VFW Auxiliary Post 10722 (Pelham) for the amazing donation of valentine cards, chocolate roses, and goodies - for residents & staff.
- The Patriot Guard Riders for their donation of a pizza party that was thoroughly enjoyed by our pizza-pie-loving veterans.
Add music. We love music! Enjoy these pics of the talented Dave Durkee entertaining our veterans over the weekend.

Shout out to Divet Dave's family for bringing in a fun putting green. One of our newest NHVH family members & club champ of Riverside Golf Course, we're happy Dave shares his passion of the sport with us. Also sharing her passion of dogs with us is Wendy. We're so appreciative of her steadfast support of our veterans, bringing Chou Chou, her 4-legged family member, to visit. To complete this trifecta of fun, Tilton School students joined us for an evening of board games. We are blessed!

Congratulations to all of our NHVH Olympic participants and a big shout out to Tom Sawyer, Tim Fox & Tony Damanti who took Home the gold, silver & bronze medals! Our Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony and Ice Cream Social was the culmination of many days of Olympic-themed games where our veterans earned points for participation, attendance, and game scores. Ribbons were given for the top Olympians for each neighborhood in addition to the overall top 3. In true olympic style, Heather sang our National anthem after carrying the torch to our Olympic finale. We’re thankful to The Common Man's 104 Diner for making our celebration even sweeter, providing and serving ice cream and brownie sundaes. Thank you 104 Diner! Add in our RED Friday, and Murphy tail wags and kisses and our day was complete.

We took in many exhibits and the IMAX show, History of Apollo, on our trip to the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center this week. Our very own Tom Sawyer was proud to share that he worked on parts for the Apollo while at RCA in Lawrence, MA, and enjoyed sharing his experiences with us and other Center visitors. Many thanks to our Resident Benefit Fund donors and our volunteers who make our trips possible!
