Happy 24th Anniversary, Mercy Ridge!🎉🎉🎉
Today marks a special milestone for our community—the 24th anniversary of Mercy Ridge! We're celebrating by taking a fun look back at where it all began.
• Our Main Entrance, McCauley Commons, is named for Sister Catherine McCauley, who founded the Sisters of Mercy in
Dublin, Ireland, in 1831.
• As a nod to the Sisters of Mercy, our apartments, buildings, common areas, and even our Assisted Living building are
named after prominent places in Ireland.
• The Mercy Ridge leaf logo represents life and health, with its veining symbolizing the cross from the Sisters of Mercy logo.
• The stunning stained-glass windows in our chapel, known as the Holy Family Windows, were a gift from the Mount Saint Agnes Theological Center for Women.
• Ground was broken for the $50 million project in March 2000.
• More than 600,000 bricks were used to build Mercy Ridge.
• By February 2001, we had 98% of the apartments reserved, with deposits in hand.
• Our first resident move-in was on July 2, 2001. We welcomed residents into 60 apartments that first month alone.
• We're proud to share that three original residents from 2001 still call Mercy Ridge home.
• We even have one member of the original Resident Council still residing here today.
We invite you to share memories and pictures of Mercy Ridge on this special day.
