Many heartfelt thanks for ten fabulous years serving Tinley Park, our veterans, neighbors, friends, and colleagues in the old Tinley Park Public Library formerly known as Maher Funeral & Legal Services.

As of Friday, August 15, 2025, Maher sold the building and the property to Bremen 228's school board, who will occupy the location directly after some remodeling.

Maher Funeral Services continues on but after a strategic alliance with the venerable Ed Damstra III who leads Colonial Chapel Funeral Home and Crematory in nearby Orland Park, Illinois.

Maher will continue to offer estate planning services and probate legal representation in connection with Colonial Chapel, who continues to provide preneed funeral planning as well as the full range of end-of-life services.

A suburban firefighter who also serves in the Army Reserves is suing his civilian employer for alleged retaliation and defamation. He is also seeking back pay.

Dear friend, WGN personality, and fellow attorney Karen Conti's recent book about Karen's representation of John Wayne Gacy (executed by lethal injection for multiple murders) appears on the cover of this month's Illinois State Bar Association's Bar Journal.

Congratulations again to Karen Conti, who continues to selflessly serve our neighborhoods, communities, our state, and our nation!

At the Illinois Holocaust Museum Skokie last Saturday with a survivor holding the Guidon for the US Army Reserve Drill Sergeants C Company, 2-330th Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 95th Division (Arlington Heights, Illinois).
Our docent, Michael, was incredibly knowledgeable, related stories his family's having suffered and died in the Camps, and a true expert as well as enthusiastic about those who wanted to learn.
The 95th Division liberated some camps in the Second World War, and our 88 year-old survivor was happy to deliver personal remarks to us, answer questions and answers, and elaborate on "when the Greatest Army in the World liberated us in 1945."
The Illinois Holocaust Museum is time well spent, for the novice, the expert, and all those in between.
