FAQ: My primary care physician doesnt think I need testosterone therapy? I feel awful...however, they say I am "normal" or on the "low end of normal." What do I do?
Testosterone levels are measured using blood tests, but the "normal" range is based on a wide age group, from 18 to 80 years old.
This creates a broad scale of 250-1100. So even though a 20-year-old and a 70-year-old shouldn’t have the same testosterone levels, they could both still be considered "normal."
Testosterone naturally starts to decline around age 30, but research shows it doesn’t have to drop drastically with age.
If a man has symptoms of Low T but his levels are on the lower end of normal, treatment may still be beneficial.
