I Can-Zetta’s journey with cancer

In this season of Thanksgiving, I have so much to be thankful for all of my blessings. I have been with my kids & girls for several days in row. It has been such a blessing to watch the girls play, whisper,& laugh together.
During 2023, it’s good to stop and assess all of the good things that have happened in our lives. Your friendships, cards, acts of love, and especially the prayers are greatly appreciated.
And look how much my hair has grown! God has been with us.

I have so much to be thankful for. I’m 10 days out from my surgery and feeling stronger every day. The most important thing is that the pathology report has said that I’m clear of cancer in every area! Praise God. His blessings have truly flowed over me.
Thank you to all who have read my post and offered prayers on my behalf. I have received so many cards and words of encouragement. I’m truly grateful and humbled. I will always remember this journey and what I’ve learned about friendship. God supplied for my needs. I hope that I will be able to pass this along to others as they need strength to fight the good fight. Again, my love and gratitude to each one of you !

I rang the bell after chemo #6 today with complete gratitude for all the many, many acts of kindness and support I have had along the way from family and friends near and far. Thank you for being a part of this journey! All glory to God.

Bart came for a few days to visit and I’m supposing to lay eyes on me. We had good visits and quality time, and we were with Zack & family some too. Always a bonus! He wanted to take me to something I might enjoy. So we went to Mesmerica on the UNT campus. It was like being in a giant kaleidoscope for an hour while a monotonous Pan flute was played. It was beautiful, and meant to be relaxing. We both admitted to falling asleep. I had not been feeling well at all since chemo #5 I can’t tell you how much his visit & Zack’s lifted me up again. I can see the finish line if I just keep my eyes on HIS light!

My date for #4.- my sister Wanna. Zack suggested this - an idea a friend had suggested. I’ve had special one on one time each chemo day which made the time fly by. Two more to go. Love my team!

I go tomorrow for treatment #4 so today I am reflecting, thanking God for HIS strength and the many prayers given on my behalf by my friends and supporters, reading cards I've saved that have been sent by so many friends, I came across this today that is from the book The Lives We Actually Have that was written by Kate Bowler-Katherine's great friend. (with Jessica Richie -100 Blessings for Imperfect Days)....
"But our God came to be cloaked

My #3 chemo date was my sister Carla, yesterday. we had wonderful conversations, card games, snacks, and quality time as I sat in the comfy chair.
Texas Oncology has been wonderful. Chemo day is made so easy. The nurses are caring and giving of themselves to make everyone comfortable. from the front desk, the lab, Dr Patel, and infusion nurses I can’t say enough to recommend them.
AND. DRUM ROLL INSERTED HERE…. After Dr Patel gave a quick breast exam she couldn’t feel the masses!! So this all must be doing it’s job. The course of action will remain the same. 3 more chemo dates then surgery in future, but each step will be with God who is my ultimate healer. Yay GOD!!

My date to Texas Oncology for treatment #2. Zack Smith made the time pass quickly with playing cards & visiting. Bonus - call from Bart Smith. I have such great sons!! Knowing what to expect for treatment was also a plus. Thanks be to God.
