We are saddened to announce the death of Marshall Mark Riley, age 69, of Tionesta, PA, formerly of Bradford Woods, PA, who died on Friday, November 7, 2025, at his home in Tionesta. He was born on May 21, 1956, in Sewickley, PA, son of the late James Frederick and Regina Dare (Morrow) Riley. He was named after his great-grandfather, Marshall Riley, a renowned stone mason from Grafton, WV.
Marshall grew up in Duff City, PA, and later lived on the Frederick W. Mashey Farm in Bradford Woods. He attended North Allegheny High School in McCandless Township. Marshall worked for Gladieux Food Services, Inc., at the Greater Pittsburgh International Airport. He moved to Newmansville, PA, in the 1980s, enjoyed hiking in the forest, reading, drawing, listening to the Coast-to-Coast Radio Program, studying astrology, and swimming at the YMCA in Titusville. Marshall spent much of his free time in Clarion, PA, and he liked visiting the Clarion Free Library and the VFW, Post 2145, of which he was an auxiliary life member. The Veteran’s Club of Forest County in Marienville, PA, was also a favorite stop.
He was a student of Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism, astrology, and Islam for over fifty years. He drew inspiration from sacred texts, frequently quoting his favorite passages from Psalm 23, Matthew 6:5, and Micah 6:8.

He is survived by six siblings: Sandra Connier of London, England; Keith Riley of Crossville, TN; Reena Schmidt and Roxeen Slappo, both of Sewickley, PA; Sharmane McCoy of New Sewickley, PA; and Patrick Riley of Hopewell, PA. He is also survived by eight nieces, six nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and a sister: Herbert Graney, formerly of Pwllheli, Wales; and Barbara Stancil, formerly of Colorado Springs, CO.
