Provider Spotlight: Alex Gibby, APRN-CNP. ✨

At FHCSO, we want our patients to feel more connected to the providers caring for them. Today we’re highlighting Alexandria “Alex” Gibby, APRN-CNP, who serves patients at our Tishomingo Extended Care Clinic.

Alex earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Central University and began her career in the Intensive Care Unit at Baylor Scott & White in McKinney, Texas. Working in critical care shaped her clinical foundation and strengthened her passion for advocating for patients and their families. She later earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University, expanding her ability to care for individuals across all stages of life as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Alex is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and strives to make every patient feel heard, supported, and confident in their healthcare journey. At the Tishomingo Extended Care Clinic, she treats a wide variety of concerns including acute illnesses, upper respiratory infections, gastrointestinal illnesses, minor injuries, dermatologic concerns, musculoskeletal injuries, and other everyday health needs.

Outside of work, Alex enjoys a full life with her husband Tyler, their son Callahan, and their two German Shepherds, Ace and Meeka. Becoming a mom has added even more empathy and purpose to the care she provides, and she feels incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve her community both professionally and personally.

We’re proud to have Alex as part of our team and appreciate the compassionate care she provides to our patients every day.💚

Opioid use disorder is a treatable medical condition, and the right care can make all the difference.

FHCSO’s Medication Assisted Recovery & Support (MARS) Program provides compassionate, evidence-based treatment for adults 18+ in Johnston, Marshall, Coal, and Atoka counties. Recovery isn’t about facing it alone, it’s about having the right tools, guidance, and support.

The MARS Program offers:
• FDA-approved medications such as Suboxone
• Individual counseling with a licensed professional
• Peer support and behavioral health services
• Affordable, judgment-free care, including options for those without insurance

Expanded access is now available Monday through Thursday at our Tishomingo clinic with Tasha Cummins, APRN-CNP, PMHNP-C, along with counseling support from Terry Truett, MS, LPC.

If you or someone you love is struggling, support is here.
Call 580-263-0808 to learn more or schedule an appointment.

Recovery is possible, and no one has to take that first step alone.

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. 💚

Colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable cancers when caught early, which is why screening and knowing the warning signs are so important.

Symptoms can include:
💚 Changes in bowel habits
💚 Changes in stool consistency
💚 Blood in the stool
💚 Ongoing abdominal discomfort or cramping

Sometimes colorectal cancer may not cause symptoms at all in the early stages, which is why routine screening is key. If you have questions about screening or want to discuss what option is right for you, the team at Family Health Center of Southern Oklahoma is here to help.

📞 Call 580-371-2343 to schedule an appointment with your provider.
