Happy New Year! Today many Asian countries celebrate the Lunar New Year. I love celebrating anything that is aligned with the natural wheel and am grateful to these cultures that share their traditions with the world. Having shed what no longer serves us in the year of the Snake, we now enter the year of the Horse—an invitation to move forward with strength, momentum, and renewed hope. And being a new moon, what a perfect time to reset and plant within us a determination to be mindful and compassionate, no matter what obstacles we may face. That’s where the peace comes from, my friends - within us. May this new lunar year bring about so many blessings as you move forward toward the person you are meant to be in each moment.

20 years!

Twenty years ago I began my journey as a massage therapist. I don’t know where 20 years ago Peggy thought this would all lead, but what an adventure!

A few weeks ago, I received one of the best compliments in my career when a client told me that from her first appointment with me, she could tell right away that there was “love in my hands.” That’s a compliment I can live off of for months!

All the training, technical understanding, trial-and-error technique practice, and all the other experiences in my career that have brought me to where I am with my work could never summarize what I do as well as this: when I work, I do so with the intention to offer relief, restoration, and a sense of being held.

Whatever the next 20 years brings into my life and practice, I hope that every day I have the chance to serve my community as a massage therapist, I always do so with love in my hands and the intention to bring relief, joy, and restoration into my clients’ lives.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. It’s truly an honor to have spent the last 20 years doing what I love, and your trust and support are what have made this all possible.

Don’t forget—you are the only person in your world who has the ability to discover the peace within you that leads to true healing and happiness. I’m so grateful to be a small part of your journey toward that peace and wholeness.

Finding peace amidst the current temperature in our country seems like a daunting task. Last night as I lit my candle in solidarity for the pain and determination that many people in our country are experiencing, I spent a lot of time thinking about what peace really means. The most important realization that has been sitting on my heart is that *there is no coincidence that the monks are walking right now!* Focusing on peace and standing up for what you believe in your heart to be right are not mutually exclusive acts. We do not need to turn a blind eye to what is happening in our country in order to develop inner peace. Instead, when we find that peace within ourselves, it allows us to take responsibility for what it is that we can actually control in our lives, which is ourselves and our responses. The struggle and pain and division in our country is not something we can or should ignore. Following the example of the venerable monks and their .usa movement by showing loving-kindness, compassion and non violence does not mean disengaging from reality. Instead we’ve been given a gift of something we CAN do when just lighting a candle doesn’t feel like it’s enough. If we all strive to find peace within ourselves, consciously and mindfully approaching situations in a compassionate way and recognizing how our perspective contributes to so much of our own suffering, that energy has the potential to spread - to our family, to our neighbors, to our community, to our country, to the world! So while we navigate the temperature of the political, economical and social climate currently happening in our world, let’s focus on those things we really can control: Finding peace within and showing compassion to those who are suffering. It’s not the answer we all want. But it’s the one thing we all can do. May you and all beings be well, happy and at peace 🙏 Aho!

May those who simply hear about this walk—from a friend, a family member, or a kind stranger—receive this message like a seed carried on a gentle breeze.

To everyone whose life touches ours—whether we meet in person or stay connected through our hearts across the miles—may this walk for peace find a home in you.

May this peace bring you quiet joy. May it help you feel more connected to your own heart and bring out a natural kindness that flows easily to others.

And may the peace that grows inside you shine outward. May it touch your family, your neighbors, and everyone you meet, spreading warmth into the world we all share.

We offer this prayer with humble hearts, hoping that peace might bloom a little more brightly for everyone.

I’d like to take a moment and consider this extraordinary event happening in our country right now. It’s a far cry from the political, economical, divisive talk we are hearing too much of. A group of buddhist monks, the most humblest of men, men dedicated to a spiritual path through prayer, service, worship and dedication are walking across the country in the cold weather for nothing more than to spread the message of peace. And I just feel that their message must be of importance if they are going to make the effort and sacrifice to share it. One of the offerings shared in their spiritual peace talks was a simple practice. Each morning, write down “today is going to be my peaceful day”. That’s it. Simple. Easy. Powerful. And then at night, meditate on your peaceful day and acknowledge anything that has happened that needs repaired between someone else in order to restore peace. Resolve to fix that issue the next day and then write your statement the following morning. Establish peace where it lacked the day before and continue on with your peaceful day. It’s so beautiful in its simplicity. And it’s in direct contradiction to any other news being spread right now. Here’s my take- where your attention goes, energy flows. We are in a transitionary state. The direction of our frequency is truly dependent on what we choose to make of it. I choose to focus on the simple teachings of these humble peace seekers who desire nothing for themselves except to share their quiet message and I choose to shift focus away from the greed and corruption of those who are seeking power and dominion for their own gain. This is the world I choose to live in. Who else is going to have their peaceful day today! In the words of the movement, may you and all beings be well, happy and at peace 🙏❤️

It has been such a beautiful privilege to have served so many in our community this year. I’ve been able to laugh with you, cry with you, celebrate with you, mourn with you, grow with you….I am so humble and grateful for every moment. Thank you for shedding your skin with me during this past year of the snake. We have so much to look forward to in 2026!
