What Is MOEfit?

At it’s core, MOEfit is a philosophy. MOEfit is a new way to look at approaching the “functional” side of getting fit and, more importantly, staying fit. Yea, we look and feel a little like a Crossfit gym and a storage unit had a baby, but we are much more than that. We believe that getting your workout in for the day should never be considered just “working out,” instead it should be considered “training.” Now at this point, you’re very likely thinking, “But I’m not training for anything at the moment.” While it may be true that you’re not currently training for a half or full marathon, triathlon or Spartan Race, you absolutely ARE training for something. You are training for life. You are training for something that may happen to you seconds after reading this or 10 years from now.

Here’s an example I love to give in classes...Let’s say you’re in the third story of a building that catches fire, there’s no way to get out. Your only option is to hang out the outside window till the ladder truck arrives, and it’s still 4 minutes away. Do you have the grip strength to hang there for 4 minutes? In another scenario, you’re hiking with a friend and they get bitten by a Coral Snake and start feeling too dizzy to walk. You call 911 and EMS is on the way to the trail head but you can save precious minutes of your friends life by carrying them there ahead of time to meet. Are you strong enough to throw your friend over your shoulder and carry them a half a mile to save their life?

It’s true that these far our scenarios will probably never happen to you, but I can assure you...other things will! Think of it this way, how many things have ever happened to you so far in your life that “probably will never actually happen?” Exactly.

So that’s who we are. Yes. We’re a gym. Yep...we do weightlifting and running and burpees and pull ups. We flip tires and push and drag heavy things around, but we have a greater goal mind, and the thing is....you’ll accidentally turn into a fit beast in the process!!
