I tenderly mold the earth

Through dewy fog, mist, and seas

I nurture all life around me

My waves oscillate like cradles

Swaying and rolling the lake

As I rock mariners to sleep

I impact the climate, landscapes, and people surrounding my clear waters and beyond

With sublime horizons and a vast surface

I grant them a sanctuary of safety

I have been known by many names including, Gichigami, Lac Tracy, Lake Superior, and Big Lake. I have tended these lands and those who come to enjoy them throughout my ages.

I wish you a happy Lake Superior Day! The grandeur of my three quadrillion gallons of water has much to offer.
