At just 10 years old, Luke Wolfrum turned a simple idea into a powerful act of kindness. We’re proud to celebrate Dr. Roger Kruse, a ProMedica physician specializing in family medicine, sports medicine, and regenerative medicine, who was recently honored by The University of Toledo for his decades of service as head team physician for Toledo Athletics.

In recognition of his outstanding dedication to athlete care and the advancement of sports medicine, the university has named the Athletic Training Room in Savage Arena the Dr. Roger J. Kruse Center for Sports Medicine.

Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to cancer prevention. Through genetic counseling, ProMedica experts like Taylor Steyer are helping people understand their risk and take control of their health.

“It’d be great to catch people before they even get cancer,” said Taylor Steyer, a genetic counselor with ProMedica. "5-10% of cancers are genetic, and that is about true for breast cancer, it's about 5-10%. Ovarian cancer is about 20-25%."

This Wood County woman is turning her story into a message of hope and prevention.
