Fresh LETTUCE, hydroponically grown without chemicals or pesticides, is now available at the Hometown Butcher Shop in Casey! Harvested and delivered fresh today (Sept 9, 2025). Also delivered a fresh harvest of microgreens this morning as well. Check it out!

JR's Microgreens will be at the Growing with Greenup farmers market on Saturday, September 6 from 8 until noon with microgreens and LETTUCE!

Varieties of microgreens available will be: Alfalfa, Broccoli, Cabbage, Radish and Spicy Salad Mix.

Varieties of lettuce available will be: Five Star, Muir, Green Forest and Dragoon.

We use organic seed, organic growing medium, and do NOT use chemicals or pesticides. Our lettuce is grown hydroponically in our greenhouse.

Hey friends- We will be harvesting our hydroponic lettuce this week! We will have some available at our farm, as well as at the Celebrate Downtown Mattoon market in front of DeBuhr’s on Wednesday from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM (or sold out). We have 5 different varieties: Truchas, Green Forest, and Dragoon which are all types of Romaine lettuce; Muir which a Summer crisp lettuce, and Five Star which is a salad mix.

Also, we will have the following varieties of microgreens available at the Celebrate Downtown Mattoon market as well: Alfalfa, Arugula, Broccoli, Red Cabbage, Radish, and Spicy Salad Mix.

ALL of our produce is grown without the use of chemicals or pesticides.

JR’s Microgreens will be at the Celebrate Downtown Mattoon market on Wednesday, July 30 from 3:00 until 6:00 PM (or until sold out) with the following microgreen varieties:

Arugula, Alfalfa, Beets, Broccoli, Red Cabbage, Cilantro, Rambo Radish, Spicy Salad Mix and Sunflower.

Who is ready for some tasty, nutritious, and naturally grown microgreens (no pesticides, no chemicals, organic seed)??? We have freshly harvested Rambo Radish, Broccoli and Salad Mix. Feel free to reach out if you are interested in learning more about these nutrient dense microgreens. If you are not sure how to use them, they can be added to shakes, sauces, sprinkled over eggs, pizza, omlets, or just eaten straight out of the clamshell.
