Wildflower Family Chiropractic We aim to help families discover health and wellness through a natural approach. About the Chiropractor

Dr. Seitz grew up just outside of Tama, IA.

Early in life she was inspired by her father to look into Chiropractic. Although, her first degree was in animal science, her passion for helping people emerged and she changed her course. In her plan to move towards wellness she discovered a few health concerns she had and was unsatisfied with the answers she was given. Between the fatigue, weight gain, and hair loss from hypothyroidism, and personality changes associated with severe hormone imbalances Dr. Seitz was desperate to make some changes in her life. Her first Chiropractic experience was in 2006. The doctor explained how removing nerve interference the body will heal itself. Still skeptical, Dr. Seitz was given high doses of antibiotics to relieve a sinus infection she had over spring break. Those high doses killed all the good bacteria in her body and she was left with all the bad, an infection known as Clostridium Difficile. She recovered several months later with the help of probiotics, more antibiotics, and Chiropractic care. Shortly after, Dr. Seitz was rear ended causing whiplash. With that, her migraines peaked. After a few months of continued care, her migraines dropped in number and severity. With all the help Chiropractic did for her, it solidified her path to bring natural wellness to the community. In 2012, Dr. Seitz began schooling at Palmer College of Chiropractic. There it was discovered she had Scoliosis, a lateral curve in the spine. She was devastated but with the support from chiropractic she has been able to overcome the fears she associated with the condition. During her time at Palmer, Dr. Seitz met a chiropractor who also worked with functional medicine. Between his specific adjustments and supplementation, and making changes to her diet, she has had her hormones rebalanced and no longer has a thyroid condition. By changing her life and embracing all aspects of chiropractic her health has never been better. Through all of these life experiences, she was being prepared for the vital work of helping people reach their full health potential. Throughout her graduate school career at the prestigious fountainhead, Palmer College of Chiropractic, she succeeded by constantly studying and researching the most effective ways to be healthy and bring that health and wellness to the community. Dr. Seitz’s passion is to educate and support as many families as possible so they can reach their full health potential through natural chiropractic care. Over the past years she has seen her dream become a reality; Seitz Family Chiropractic is an up and coming clinic in the Tama-Toledo area. Seitz Family Chiropractic and Dr. Seitz will continue to educate more and more people on the principles of how the body functions and the importance of supporting innate within the body through eating nutritiously, exercising, and most importantly removing nerve interference through chiropractic.

Your child’s behavior isn’t random, it’s a reflection of how their brain has developed.

The brain builds itself from the bottom up, like a house with strong foundational layers. Each stage adds new “tools” for movement, learning, connection, and emotional regulation.

When everything develops in order, the brain works efficiently, integrating movement, sound, and visual thinking into smooth communication and self-regulation.

But when something interrupts that natural flow (like stress, trauma, skipped milestones, or illness), the brain may rely on earlier, less mature tools.

That’s when we start seeing things like:
⚡ Emotional outbursts
⚡ Hyperactivity
⚡ Sensory sensitivities
⚡ Learning or attention struggles

Not because a child won’t… but because they can’t yet.

At Wildflower Family Chiropractic, we uncover where your child’s brain is in this hierarchy, and support it to move forward efficiently so learning, behavior, and connection come more naturally again.

Every behavior tells a story. Let’s help your child write a better one.

💫 From Overwhelmed to Overjoyed 💫

The holiday season can be beautiful, but it can also be busy. Travel, shopping, and endless to-do lists can leave your body stuck in stress mode. When the nervous system is on high alert, even joyful moments can feel heavy.

Chiropractic adjustments help restore balance. By supporting clear communication between the brain and body, your system can shift from tension to ease and from survival to celebration.

Peace and joy aren’t things you chase. They’re states your body expresses when it’s aligned and connected.

✨ Ready to move through the holidays feeling more grounded and at peace? We’d love to walk alongside you in that process.

Many children facing sensory or developmental challenges are working hard to make sense of a world that feels louder, brighter, or more complex than it does for others. Their nervous systems are processing constant input. When that system is under strain, communication between body and brain can become less efficient, which often shows up in regulation, expression, or coordination.

Chiropractic care focuses on helping the nervous system function with fewer obstructions. Gentle adjustments can support clearer signaling so kids can organize input, regulate rhythms, and express themselves with greater ease. This does not replace the therapies and supports many families rely on. It simply offers another way to care for the system that sits underneath all of those skills 🧠🌿

If you are exploring options to support your child’s sensory or developmental needs, we are here to talk through how chiropractic might fit into your family’s care plan.

Your child’s spine isn’t just structural, it’s neurological.

Every movement, every bit of posture, and every spinal segment sends powerful input up to the brain, shaping how the brain develops, organizes, and adapts.

When spinal alignment is altered, the input being sent to the brain changes.

That means the brain is being under-stimulated in some areas and overstimulated in others, creating inefficiencies in how it processes, regulates, and responds to the world.

The result? A brain that’s working harder, not smarter.

We might see this show up as poor focus, emotional outbursts, low tone, sensory overwhelm, or even delayed development.

By restoring proper alignment, we restore proper input.

And when the brain starts getting accurate, balanced stimulation again, it can organize, connect, and adapt the way it was designed to.

With The Brain Blossom Program, that’s what we do.

We help the brain process the world more efficiently by optimizing how it’s being fed through the body.

A growing family meets constant change. Pregnancy brings shifting demands. Babies learn to coordinate new movements. Children adapt to new environments and stressors. All of this relies on how clearly the nervous system can sense, respond, and reorganize.

Chiropractic care supports that process by reducing interruptions in the body’s communication network. When the signal is clearer, the body can adjust with greater ease. Parents often notice steadier transitions, calmer rhythms, and a child who settles or adapts more naturally to daily challenges. 🌱

If you are curious how this applies to your pregnancy or your child’s development, reach out. We are here to listen and walk with your family as you explore what healthier adaptability might look like. 💛

A More Balanced Way to Understand Health

One reason this Pathways article stood out to us is that it highlights something we talk about often in chiropractic: there is more than one way to understand health. Pathogenesis looks for what is wrong and intervenes when something needs urgent attention. That model has its place, just like calling a firefighter has its place when a house is in danger.

Salutogenesis offers a different but complementary lens. Instead of focusing on crisis, it focuses on what creates strength, coherence, and adaptability in the first place. It is the work of the carpenter and the electrician who care for the house so it can withstand stress, weather, and time. In the body, that foundation begins with the nervous system and the way it coordinates healing, growth, and resilience.

This perspective invites us to shift from fear based problem solving toward nurturing the conditions that let families thrive. It is not about choosing one model over the other. It is about knowing when each one serves us best and remembering that long term wellbeing is built from the inside out.

Did you know your child’s eyes can reveal a lot about how their brain is functioning?

Smooth tracking, focusing, and following objects aren’t just “eye skills”, they rely on the lower brain and nervous system working efficiently.

When that system is stressed or underdeveloped, kids can struggle with:
👀Losing their place when reading
👀Blurred or moving words
👀Fatigue, headaches, or frustration

Gentle brain-based chiropractic care can help restore communication between the body and brain, supporting smooth eye movements, better focus, and improved coordination.

If your child struggles with reading, focus, or eye fatigue, it might not just be their eyes, it might be their brain asking for support.

When the nerve system is clear, the body can draw on its own resources with greater ease. Prenatal bodies coordinate complex changes through that system. Babies grow, sense, and adapt through it. Families rely on it each day as they respond to stress, rest, and the demands of daily life.

Chiropractic care supports this process by working with what is already present. Gentle adjustments help reduce interferences that can interrupt the flow of communication between the brain and the rest of the body. A clearer signal supports steadier development for infants, smoother adaptation during pregnancy, and more resilience for parents who are juggling constant change.

If you have questions about how this relates to your pregnancy or your child’s development, we are here to talk through it and support your family’s next steps.
