During this critical time, ensuring that educators and staff are equipped to support student mental health is more important than ever. Over the course of five days, Community Outreach Specialists Ms. Marjorie Holt and Vinetta Moore provided Su***de Prevention Training to the dedicated staff at Glass City Academy Downtown Campus—offering essential knowledge, tools, and strategies to help save lives.

At the completion of the training, a certificate of recognition was presented to the Principal and a staff member, honoring their commitment to mental health awareness and student well-being.

This initiative was proudly facilitated by UMADAOP of Lucas County, continuing our mission to strengthen communities through education, outreach, and advocacy.

Montrice HereMe Terry , a dedicated advocate with UMADAOP of Lucas County, continues to make a powerful impact by connecting with young people where it matters most. Recently, he visited two high school varsity teams (Woodward & Scott High Schools) to spread awareness about su***de prevention through the “Life Is Better With You Here” & ”Spread the Love” campaigns. His presence wasn’t just about delivering a message—it was about creating a safe space for real conversations, breaking down stigma, and reminding students that they are valued, seen, and never alone.

Through his passion, authenticity, and ability to meet people where they are, Montrice embodies the heart of UMADAOP’s mission—empowering communities, fostering healing, and ensuring that no one struggles in silence. We’re so proud of Bishop Marjorie Holt for leading with love and inspiring our community.💗🫶🏽💗 She surprised all 167 students at Ella P. Stewart Academy for Girls with brand-new tennis shoes and backpacks through our “SPREAD THE LOVE”❤️ initiative.

Bishop Holt encouraged the students with these powerful words:“If I can think it in my head, believe it in my heart, see it with my eyes, I can be somebody!”
