UAW Local 2213 St Vincent RNs Reach New Union Contract

UAW Local 2213 Registered Nurses at Bon Secour Mercy Health St Vincent have ratified a new collective bargaining agreement on July 29, 2025. The new agreement was recommended by the Union’s Bargaining Committee and accepted by 89% of the membership.

The bargaining team is very proud of the new agreement. Some of highlights of the three-year agreement which is effective August 1, 2025 through July 31, 2028 include:
- Wage increases of 18-20% over the duration of the agreement for the majority of nurses.
- Maintained Health Insurance Plan design for the length of the agreement, including maintained premiums through 2026, with caps on place for the 2027 and 2028 plan years.
- Maintained pension and retirement benefits at current levels for the duration of the agreement.
- Benefit improvements including expanded bereavement leave, crisis pay (short staffing premiums), and expanded disability insurance for weekend RNs.
- Work life quality improvements including reduced on call requirements, expanding overtime opportunities to include voluntary on call, expanding staff and patient safety language, expanded language to include work place violence prevention, and maintaining negotiated work rules and absenteeism policies with minor changes.

Today UAW Local 2213 honored one of our retired nurses who passed away. Patricia Arvay graduated from St Vincent’s School of Nursing in 1953.

In 1971, Pat returned to St V’s and started on 2nd shift in the float pool. While in the float pool she realized that she wanted to work in post partum where she specialized.

In 1993 Pat retired and continued to serve as a parish nurse for her church and community.

UAW Local 2213 RN Union Contract Ratification Meetings
will be held at
St Vincent Auditorium and Conference Rooms
2213 Cherry St
on July 24 and 25, 2025 from
7:30 am to 8 pm.

Informational Meetings will run continuously during these times, with opportunities to ask questions and review new contract language. Members must be in good standing with the Union and provide photo ID, including hospital ID in order to vote.
