Howdy all! It’s been a rather quiet beginning of the year for us. We’ve been on a rather bumpy road, but we’re almost at the end of it now so I’d kinda like to share. Talon has had a hell of a time with school this year, just as I’m sure many of your littles have! Call me naive I guess but I just NEVER imagined that my precious little dude would be BULLIED. Talon went back to in person school this early spring, and has been bullied every week since. Physically. Mentally. And emotionally. When issues were presented to Toledo Public Schools very little was done. And that’s frustrating, so I’m doing what any mom would, I’m pulling him from that awful district. I’m telling you this because it’s important to talk to your kids EVERY SINGLE DAY. Open communication was the only thing that made Talon feel comfortable coming to me, he would tell me something awful and when I talked to the staff, it would take DAYS for them to review the video to see my son was telling the truth! So Talon would sit DAYS in classroom or the lunch room with his attackers. Days. What exactly does that do to an 8 year old’s mental health? When does this end? Who do we hold responsible for this? The school? They said AND I QUOTE “maybe he should stay home the remaining 3 weeks, these kids just aren’t safe for him” the parents of these kids?! GOOD FU***NG LUCK, 1 mom. Just one mom reached out to me. The kids?! They’re children, are they actually responsible? It’s frustrating. Everything this boy has been through, and now he can’t have friends because “He’s weird.” so I remind him every single day, weird is so much more beautiful than basic! Talk to your kids. Every. Single. Day. Bullies are not a joke. And apparently the public school system isn’t doing anything to stop it, so protect your babes, and squeeze them extra tight!
