New Episode Alert!

November is Youth HOPE Month, a time to raise awareness for young people facing homelessness, family conflict, or crisis.

In our latest episode of JJ’s Clinical Connections, we sit down with Zepf Center’s Director of Youth Services Andrea Murdock, and Street Outreach Program Manager Jennifer Ballard. Together, we take a closer look at Zepf’s 24-hour Safety Net Youth Shelter, youth-specific crisis services, and trauma-informed programs dedicated to providing safety, support, and a path forward for young people in our community.

Earlier this month, the Board of Lucas County Commissioners officially proclaimed November 2025 as Homelessness Awareness Month and Youth HOPE Month in Lucas County.

This recognition is especially meaningful to us at Zepf Center, as we operate the only 24-hour shelter for runaway and homeless youth in Northwest Ohio. Every day, our team provides safety, stability, and support to young people experiencing crisis, housing instability, or homelessness.

We are deeply grateful to the Commissioners and our community partners for their ongoing support and advocacy. Together, we can continue raising awareness and ensuring that youth in our community have access to the care and resources they need to thrive.

Make today your quit day and join us in recognizing the American Cancer Society's Great American Smokeout! Quitting smoking is one of the best decisions you can make for your health, your future, and the people you care about.

Smoking remains one of the leading causes of preventable disease and death in the U.S., contributing to heart disease, stroke, cancer, and chronic lung conditions. But the good news is, it’s never too late to quit.

If you or someone you know is thinking about quitting, today is a great day to take that first step. Call 419-841-7701 to speak with our trauma-informed team and explore the options that may be best for you.

If you know a young person who may be thinking about leaving home, it’s important to talk, listen, and guide them. Many youth overlook essential needs like food, shelter, clothing, school, and transportation, and they may not know the resources available to help.

If a young person has run away, reach out immediately to your local police or organizations like Zepf Center's Safety Net.

Connecting youth to the right support can prevent a crisis, keep them safe, and help them find stability. Together, we can make a difference. 💚
