I talk to so many people that are intimidated by the idea of gardening in general. You can attribute this to the overzealous marketing of unnecessary products and “services” that lead people to be discouraged from getting out in their backyards producing their own food and meds. Many of the gardeners I do know are COMPLETELY dependent on products like soluble nutrients, powdered “microbes”, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides etc, etc, ♾️. Let me just say, there are endless snakenoil salesmen out there trying to make you believe they have that magical product that will “give your garden what it needs” What it needs is most likely for you to mulch it and leave it alone. It needs you to stop diluting and spraying your problems away nuking any beneficial biology and insect predators that help keep an actual healthy system in check. The short point to this spiel is to assure you that you can grow a superior harvest with minimal funds and minimal experience. Don’t fall for the convenience products because they will always lead you into a cycle of dependency. This can ring true with most hobbyists industries. People have been catching fish for thousands of years and we need a thousand dollar stick and the whole setup along with it to catch the same fish?? Don’t get fooled into forgetting the sun, the native soil, and the complex automatic systems that got us here (and keep us here) in the first place. Get out there and GROW YOUR OWN 💚
