Lucas County Suicide Prevention Vision: a community coalition, open to all, working together for life It meets to discuss prevention activities and to exchange information.

Strategy: The Lucas County Suicide Prevention Coalition seeks the elimination of all suicide attempts and completions in Lucas County. The larger coalition is comprised of citizens from the community interested in preventing suicides/attempts. The leadership Board meets more frequently and sets the agenda for the coalition and develops multiple activities aimed at eliminating suicides in Lucas County. It is comprised of leaders in suicide prevention, survivors of suicide and professional staff who value collaboration and consensus decision making as a means of fulfilling its mission

Research from the University of Kentucky shows that up to 135 people are affected to some degree by each person lost to su***de. This includes family, friends, coworkers, and communities.

The Lucas County Su***de Prevention Coalition, partners with Mercy Health is grant funded through the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board.
