Had minor ( Tia ) stroke on Labor Day weekend which consisted of numbness in lips, face, right hand fingers & arm. Had gone for bike ride with Deb on Sat. & was watching OSU game when first noticed numbness. Please, no nasty comments from my Mich. friends ! I attributed symptoms to heat/humidity that day & didn't act on them. Symptoms persisted through night & into Sun. Called my daughter Wendy ( MD ) to express my concern, & was told to go to ER NOW !! Deb took me to St. Luke's where they didn't have Neurologist on duty so transferred me to Toledo hospital. After several tests , blood work , etc. I was advised by Dr. Zaidi that I needed procedure to get better look at arteries in brain. Being the nervous scaredy cat that I am , I initially declined. I called Wendy for advice, & Dr. Zaidi was even gracious enough to talk with & explain procedure to her. My wonderful daughter calmed my worries..as well as Dr. Zaidi &I had the procedure on Wed. Of that week. As Dr. Zaidi had said, wasn't a big deal ; prep actually took longer , & the prep by the male nurses who were all Mich. fans & actually looked like they were football players themselves were great , & along with Dr. Zaidi kept the mood light & relaxed ! Thanks sooo much to Dr. Zaidi & entire crew at Toledo Hospital !!!
