A sincere thank you to August and his family for their generous donation to the LCCS toy drive 🧸🚂. Although we have not been able to obtain a photo of everyone who has donated, we truly appreciate their kindness 💚♥️ the toy drive will be going on until December 12th if anyone would like to donate. Franklin Park Pediatrics is partnering with Lucas County Children Services this holiday season.

For the children that LCCS serves, your donated gifts may be the only ones they receive. Some live in homes teetering on the brink of crisis. Others cannot live safely at home and are in substitute care, or are separated from their siblings at a time when they should be filled with excitement about the upcoming holiday season.

For anyone who is able to donate, we will have donation bins set up in our office.

If you are able to donate, any gift big or small, your support is appreciated! It will bring a smile to the face of a child who may have little to be happy about this holiday season.

🎁Gifts should remain unwrapped. However, we appreciate—and welcome—donations of wrapping paper, gift bags, tape, bows, and ribbon.🎁

Want to help a teen? Teens love to make their own buying choices, and they love gift cards. We welcome gift cards for stores like Target, Meijer, Wal-Mart, or other retailers. Please make sure to write the value on any gift card.

Gift of Joy Wish List

• Any type of toy or item for babies and children, newborns through age 5.This is our greatest need. Look for brands such as Baby Einstein, Fisher Price. Infantino, Playskool, The First Years, V-Tech, LeapFrog, Little Tykes, Sassy. • Baby, character and fashion dolls (all skin tones) and accessories.

• Anything Disney, Marvel, DC Super Heroes, Star Wars, Frozen, Avengers, Moana, NinjaTurtles, Trolls, Nemo, PAW Patrol, Disney Jr., etc.

• Legos: Mega Bloks, Classic Legos, Lego Friends, Duplos, Juniors, Star Wars, City, Ninjago,or any Lego building set.

• K’nex, bristle blocks, PlayMag and other building/STEM toys• Learning toys (V-Tech, LeapFrog, Fisher Price, Playskool, Little Tikes) • Push toys and ride-on toys for toddlers

• Bicycles, tricycles, scooters (helmets are helpful, too)

• “Bath and Body”-type or hygiene products for teens (male & female)• Fashion items for teens – purses, wallets, watches, scarves, jewelry

• Sporting goods – basketballs, footballs, baseball mitts, skateboards, etc.• Board games • Books for ages 0 to 18 • Arts & crafts items • Science and activity sets • Action figures for boys & girls • Radio-controlled vehicles, including drones • Race cars & tracks (Hot Wheels, Matchbox, etc.)

• Sleeping bags, comforters, twin bed sheets, blankets• Small electronics – toys, music players, clock radios

• Packages of underwear and socks for children• Winter pajamas for children – all sizes NB – adult • Winter coats & boots for children/teens - all sizes NB – adult

PLEASE, NO food/candy, razors or other sharp items.

We would like to congratulate Dr. Murtagh on her retirement at the end of this year, her contributions to Franklin Park Pediatrics and the medical community have been invaluable. We are incredibly grateful for her dedication and expertise. While we will truly miss her presence, we are excited for her as she embarks on this new chapter. We wish her all the best in this next stage of her life.
We want to assure our valued patients and their families that Franklin Park Pediatrics remains steadfast in its commitment to providing exceptional care. We are here for you and will continue to be readily available to answer your calls and schedule appointments as always. We are excited to announce that Franklin Park Pediatrics will expand our team by adding 2-3 new providers within the next year. We understand that some of our patients have expressed concerns, hearing rumors that Dr. Haidar and Dr Al-Ayoubi are contemplating retirement. Neither they nor Dr. McBride or Dr. Shamy have plans to retire anytime soon and are very much looking forward to continuing to serve the community.

Announcement from Dr. Murtagh

Dear Patients and Families,

After 36 fulfilling years of practicing pediatrics, I am reaching out to let you know that I have made the difficult decision to retire from my medical practice on December 31st 2025.
This decision is bittersweet because caring for your children over the years has been a true privilege. I am grateful to have been a part of your families and worked with so many wonderful parents. It has been an added bonus to watch former patients become parents.
As I look forward to the next chapter of my life, I wanted to thank you all for allowing me to be your pediatrician. It has been a true honor and I wish you all the best.
