Whether it's our home-cooked meals or fun activities, Arbor Rose is a beautiful, small home where life c

an be lived and enjoyed to its fullest. SERVICES AND FEATURES: Private suites or rooms with private full bath, cable/internet, one all-inclusive fee, ethnic and cultural food choices, housekeeping and laundry services, 24-hour help with activities of daily living (ADL's) such as dressing, bathing and cooking, medication management, and scheduled transportation services for local area doctor visits (wheelchair accessible vehicle provided).

We gathered together for a Memorial Day picnic filled with laughter, reflection, gratitude, and connection. 🇺🇸❤️

As we shared smiles, and time together, we also paused to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the reason we are able to enjoy moments of peace, freedom, and togetherness like these.

“May we never forget that freedom isn’t free, and may we honor the fallen not only in remembrance, but in the way we care for one another each day.”

Today, we want to take a moment to honor and remember our company pastor, Pastor Gerhard.

I first met Pastor Gerhard in 2019 when I was invited to attend a leadership meeting at the Arbor Rose corporate office. From that moment on, I found myself inspired not only by his teachings from the Bible, but by the way he spoke about leadership, faith, and people. He believed leadership was about serving others, praying for one another, and lifting people up when they were down.

Pastor Gerhard started so many of our staff meetings over the years, and his presence became a part of the foundation of who we are. He wasn’t just our pastor — he was a true friend, mentor, and encourager to so many of us. He was never afraid to speak his mind, but everything he said came from a place of love and conviction. One thing he often reminded people was simple but powerful: “Jesus loved you.”

One story that always stayed with me was when he shared about trusting the Lord through financial hardships and how his wife and his faith helped him let go of his beloved train collection so he could focus on what truly mattered most. His message was always about faith, trusting God during difficult seasons, and believing that even through hard times, you can make it through.

And anyone who knew Pastor also knew his lovely wife, Judy, was never afraid to lovingly call him out in front of everyone — something that always brought laughter and reminded us how genuine and grounded they both were. May they now be reunited together in Heaven.

Even seven years later, every time Pastor spoke, I still got excited to hear him talk. He truly embodied the Arbor Rose spirit of “Small Home, Big Heart.” Alongside the Zabka family, he helped reinforce the importance of leadership, compassion, and community within these homes.

So many of us poured our love into these communities, and we will continue to carry the Arbor Rose tradition forward — stronger than ever — founded on the same principles Pastor Gerhard spoke about so often: loving, serving, and growing together. His impact will continue to live on through the people he encouraged and the communities he helped shape.

We will continue to remember Pastor Gerhard as we move forward, carrying his lessons, faith, and leadership with us every day.

Yolanda has been a part of the Arbor Rose communities for the past 7 years, bringing dedication, compassion, and leadership to every role she has held. She knows our systems, our residents, and our mission deeply, and her passion for leadership continues to shine each and every day.

This week, we proudly celebrate our incredible nursing team during Nurse Appreciation Week! 💙

Our nurses truly put their hearts into serving our community every single day. Their compassion, teamwork, dedication, and advocacy for our residents and facility do not go unnoticed.

Becky is the definition of compassionate leadership. She works night and day to make sure our residents always come first. She loves to talk, keeps everyone informed, and is deeply passionate about dementia care. As the manager of our nursing staff, Becky leads with heart, organization, and dedication. She is always prepared with her notebook in hand and is incredibly efficient at communicating resident needs and updates to physicians. Becky has been part of our facility family for over 6 years and has served as a nurse for more than 10 years. She studied nursing at Lakeland, and we are beyond thankful for her commitment to our residents and team.

✨ Sam ✨
Sam is quick-witted, straightforward, and fiercely dedicated to her residents. She is the kind of nurse who tells it like it is while always advocating for the best care possible. Sam is known for staying late — sometimes *a little too late* 😊 — just to make sure her work is complete and every chart is thorough and accurate. Her attention to detail and dedication to doing things the right way make her an incredible asset to our team. Sam has been with our facility for over 8 years and completed nursing school at Parkland College in Illinois. We are so grateful to have her on our team.

Sandra is a proud mom of 8 who truly wears her heart on her sleeve. She never hesitates to advocate for residents and always speaks up when it comes to patient care and doing what is right. Sandra has been a dedicated nurse and has worked in healthcare since 2013 and currently serves as our Regional Nurse. She is highly skilled in staffing, training, regulations, family communication, and dementia care. Her dedication to residents and their loved ones shines through in everything she does. Sandra studied at Robinson and is currently preparing to take her NCLEX for her RN license — everyone wish her luck! 🎉

We are beyond blessed to have nurses who lead with compassion, strength, and dedication every single day. ❤️
