Somehow it has already been 7 years since I earned the title Doctor. In some ways it feels like it’s been a lifetime, and others it feels like a few weeks ago. I remember this moment like it was yesterday. I walked in to an auditorium FULL of parents, spouses, kids, and family cheering us all on as we walked across that stage to get our diploma. I myself had a large cheering section!
As I walked in I remember the HUGE sigh of relief I had that my schooling journey was finally complete. Little did I know that I’d be learning everyday from each and every patient that I touched. I know that I get to change lives every day, but I’ve also saved lives, and given families more time with loved ones they otherwise would not have had. I’ve caught cancers and severe medical issues, neurological conditions written off by other providers, triaged fractures and so much more. I’ve been a shoulder to cry on, someone’s biggest cheerleader, given life advice (big and small) on top of keeping everyone feeling their best. I will always be your biggest health advocate and there to fight for you when needed.
