It’s with the greatest of sadness that we announce the passing of Standing Ovation, “Bravo”, who left us Wednesday night to canter across the Rainbow Bridge.

Bravo was one of the best. He was a feisty boy when he wanted to be, but he was always available for a hug or to give me advice…he spent a lot of time listening to me along with all of his friends who loved him, young and old.

He was classic for demanding the “cuddle toll” after his rider would get water…someone on the ground was required to pay up by giving him a snuggle before he went back to work.

He wore many ribbons in his time with us, but also a lot of different “hats”, so to speak. He was a great thrill and challenge for our advanced riders but would be quiet as quiet could be for therapy, and to teach a few horse husbands about leading or brushing. He liked most treats but his favorite was a coke with sonic ice.

We are forever grateful to the Crandell Family Jamie Crandell for gifting us the time with this remarkable animal for our program, and into our lives. Thank you to Laura Mendoza for helping facilitate it.

Of all of the jobs Bravo ever did, I think love was his number one task, and he received it and gave it in spades.

We’ll never forget you, boy! I just know that you made St Peter pay a cuddle toll as you passed through those pearly gates to the greenest pasture.

Turkey Trotters Camp was a great success! Each of the little craft turkeys started with a traced hoof print from our campers’ favorite horse…special thanks to our helpers Hailey, Luci and Holli!

Halloween party at SLT! It was so much fun enjoying all the horses in their costumes and then trunk or treating…afterwards we all had a good time trying our hand at the spooky trail which ends with the horses bobbing for apple bites!!! Thanks to all who came and participated!

SLT is sporting a space for our sibling and kiddo play area items that was given renewed life by Mandy McglaunJohnston. This poor tired rack looked straight out of the 80s and now it’s absolutely beautiful! Can’t wait to fill it up with all the play goodies.
