Savasana? ❌ Almost… but not quite.
In traditional Ashtanga, the final moment isn’t another asana — it’s simply rest.
There is no new asana to perform.
No technique to apply.
Nothing to “achieve.”
After the closing sequence, we just lie down and rest.
In the traditional etiquette of the Shala, there’s also a small but meaningful detail: when lying back, we gently turn the head toward the altar. This way, our feet are not directly facing it — a subtle gesture of respect within the lineage and tradition.
It’s not about rigidity or rules. It’s about awareness.
About remembering that the practice is more than physical movement — it’s also relationship, gratitude, and humility.
And maybe the most beautiful part?
Resting is not something we do.
It’s something we allow.
After effort, we soften.
After discipline, we surrender.
After movement, we receive.
A simple detail… but interesting to know 🩵
See you on Friday 9:15am for more of this beautiful practice.
