The Ocean County Board of Commissioners recently authorized the ex*****on of a shared services agreement with participating municipalities for the 2026 Child Restraint Grant Program. The Ocean County Sheriff’s Office participates in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Child Passenger Safety Program with six municipalities (Berkeley Township, Brick Township, Lacey Township, Lakewood Township, Manchester Township and Ocean Township) to conduct Child Passenger Safety (CSP) events regularly throughout the County.

Certified CPS technicians assist parents, grandparents, caregivers and other interested parties with free instruction on how to correctly install and use the right car seats for their children. In addition, as part of the grant program the Sheriff’s Office purchases car seats to distribute to individuals in need, that attend a CPS Fitting Station Event.
