Last week, leaders from Community Medical Center, RWJBarnabas Health, RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group and local government came together to celebrate the opening of the Toms River West Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Community Medical Center and RWJBarnabas Health partnered with physicians to open the surgery center. The collaboration enables all of the partners to provide convenient, personalized, same day outpatient surgical care in Toms River and the Ocean County area. The space features five operating rooms and two procedure rooms with state-of-the-art technology, and expands area access to outpatient general, pediatric, gynecological, orthopedic, spine, cardiac, urologic and vascular surgical care.
The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony featured speakers including Patrick Ahearn, Chief Executive Officer, Community Medical Center; Urologist Dr. Neel Patel, member of the RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group; Ocean County Commissioner Jennifier Bacchione, and Toms River Councilman Craig Coleman.
The Toms River West Ambulatory Surgery Center is the final service to open within the ‘Toms River West Hub,’ an RWJBarnabas Health location intended to expand access to a variety of RWJBH health services to the area. The hub, located at 1251 Route 37 West in Toms River, also includes RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group providers for primary and orthopedic care, Children's Specialized Hospital outpatient services, New Jersey Imaging Network (radiologic imaging), and JAG Physical Therapy.
