Caught Being Remarkable! 📸👏

Gail was recognized for demonstrating one of our standards we care by, ! Gail goes above and beyond her job description, a fellow coworker watched Gail comfort and engage with one of our residents to cheer her up and guide her back to our programing. Gail really took the time to listen and help this resident with any of her needs in that moment.

Thank you Gail for ensuring our residents are comfortable in our "home"!

Our Activity Director's Favorite Activity!

Veronica's favorite activity is the demolition derby! We picked a car to drive and by using the remote the resident will steer around the track. The objective is to pop the balloon oh the other cars and if they still have the balloon they win! This is a fun game that helps with hand eye coordination and worked our the fine motor skills.

Earlier this week we celebrated ! We played a parachute game with our globe, blow up earth and try to protect it by getting rid of all the different colored eggs that represented hazards to the Earth! We had a blast, and we worked out our arms and fine motor skills along the way! 🌍💚

Kristian was nominated by a coworker who caught her displaying a new level of ! Kristian was shining bright when she helped a resident clean our her closet - she took the time to help her organize and made sure it was suitable for the residents needs.

Veronica was recognized for demonstrating ! Veronica was nominated by a coworker who saw her helping a resident into the dining room while displaying compassion and a deep understanding for their needs.

Today is National Healthcare Decisions Day

This day is a reminder that your voice matters, especially when it comes to your health. Afterall, it is . Take time to talk with your loved ones, make your wishes known, and put your care preferences in writing. Planning ahead isn’t just smart, it’s an act of care. Here are five tips to help you have the right conversations.

1) You don't have to talk about everything, to everyone, all at once. The conversation of care should be an ongoing one as care journeys change.

2) Be patient. The idea of talking about healthcare directives can be overwhelming at first. Start off with small, quick conversations to get the ball rolling, and the longer, in-depth conversations will follow.

3) You don't have to lead the whole conversation. Allowing your loved ones to share their thoughts and concerns during these discussions is crucial. They may suggest something you hadn't yet considered.

4) Nothing you say is permanent. You can change your mind as often as you would like, but it starts with having conversations.

5) You may learn that your loved ones don't agree with your plans and wishes, and that's okay! The important thing is that you are having these conversations now and that you continue having them. This will ensure your loved ones will know your choices and follow through with them.
